We went out for one last time in Balmain on Saturday night with everyone but did get home in good time. Because I (betsy) was still struggling from my work night out the previous night I didn't have much to drink. We had to move out of our apartment and meet the taxi for 6:30am. It was a very early start! But we got out, dropped off our keys and went to the airport in time.

We landed in Airlie Beach around 3:00pm and went to check in with our boat. We were travelling with Southern Cross on the Ragamuffin II the next day. Our Hostel--Beaches-- was fantastic. We had out own bathroom, mini fridge and a TV. Bobby was very excited as this meant he would watch both The Biggest Loser and Champions league! We went for a walk around Airlie Beach and it is a really nice town. There is a huge marina and there is a lagoon type pool. You can't really go swimming here becuase of the jelly fish. After going for a walk we made dinner, watched some TV and packed up for the next day.

We were picked up around 8:30 the next morning by the shuttle taking us down to the boat. We had a mini-drama as I left our stinger suits on the bus but we got those back with no problem. Then we went to meet our captain and took off for the boat. We got sailing right away and the boat was almost completely on it side with all of the passengers clinging on--hoping not to be the first to fall in the water! It was a little chilly but really great. On the boat there were two Scottish girls, a Swedish Couple, a Canadian girl, two aussies and three swiss people. They were all really nice and everyone got along really well. After an hour or two of sailing we had lunch and got to our snorkel site and went down. We were snorkeling at XXX. Then we sailed a bit more to find where we were sleep for the evening. We were at XXX when we put the anchor down and then we had some nachos as a snack before dinner. It was a great night. We were all drinking but not in a crazy fashion--rob and I were on the wine in a box. I did have trouble sleeping that night as the boat kept rocking.

The second day was def my favourite. We started off the day with breakfast and then got on a little boat and went to shore on Whitsunday Island. We went for a 20 minute hike and then ended up at a beautiful view---one of those postcard pics you always see of the whitsundays with white beaches. We layed out on the beach and went swimming for a few hours. Then we went back to the boat for lunch and went sailing to where we would spend the night--Tounge Bay (sp?). We had dinner and drinks and decided to see what music everyone had on their ipods. Everone was loving the ipods and was finding all kinds of music we had not listened to in years. Lots of 80's music! Then off to bed. We took a sleeping pill and slept really well.

On day three we had breakfast and went sailing for most of the day. We had sandwiches in route (with boat sideway) and hoped not to fall off. We got back to shore around 3pm. After checking back into beaches rob and I were thinking about going for a run but decided to go for a swim instead. We went for 50 minutes and it felt really good to get some exercise. We had drinks with everyone that evening but didn't stay late as rob had a 4:30am champions league match to watch. I slept through most of that.

This morning we packed up and now are getting ready to go to the airport to fly to Perth where we will start our campervan trip. I dont have time to upload pics now but will in a few days hopefully.
