Sunday, April 13th, was our final day in Bohemia. The sun thankfully was out to greet us again and the day was much warmer than Saturday. As we had done previously, we had breakfast in the hotel and then turned in our keys.
The main attraction for the day was the ZOO Dvůr Králové. The website for the Zoo is http://www.zoodk.cz/home_en.php if you want to see more... When I first saw the itinerary, I thought, I am not 5. I do not want to go to a Zoo! When I got there, however, and started to look at the animals, I was reminded how much fun the zoo really is and how much I love animals. I ended up having a pretty good time. One thing I strongly dislike about the Czech Republic, however, is the fact dogs are allowed nearly everywhere. I love dogs but I do not want them at my restaurant or in the shops. It is not fair to them to be yanked around constantly on a leash or shoved under a table and forced to be quiet. I make this point because at least 20 people or so had dogs with them at the Zoo
and they barked at the other animals, which either scared them or irritated them greatly. I know that Huskies are powerful animals, but they have nothing on a pissed-off leopard or tiger. The owners thought it was funny, but I thought it was terrible. You come to the zoo to see animals, so leave yours at home!!! Anyway, the animals in the Zoo were mostly African animals such as Zebras, lions, tigers, giraffes, and the like. I felt that the pens were much too small for the animals and their environments lacking, but I am sure animals mess faster than human workers can always work.
We spent several hours at the zoo, as it was the main activity, and then continued on to our final stop at a town called Polička. The town was small but is known for having remainders of one of the best preserved fortification-walls in Central Europe. It was not much to see, so we only spent about an hour or so wandering through the town, looking at the wall. We were all pretty tired and eager to get back to our dormitory. The ride back to Brno lasted about 2 hours; our trip was
