Guten Tag! Well I made it to Vienna with a very pleasant night train experience. I shared a six person couchette with only one person, so we each got to stretch out and sleep a little bit. He was a nice kid from Raleigh, North Carolina...kind of an attractive guy, an interior designer. Not many men are interior designers, and no I dont think he was gay because he was pretty studly and rugged. Seemed very manly in my eyes, but hey you never know. Anyway, moving on...I got to my hostel around 8:30 and had to wait around since check in was not until 2. So since I needed to do laundry I headed into the common area and did my laundry. And then it happend. I did a really really really stupid thing. Apparently I felt a little too comfortable in laid back Vienna, because while I was doing my laundry I had plugged my cell phone in the wall in the laundry room to charge while I did my laundry. Then while I was waiting I started talking to a sweet canadian girl who also had just arrived and asked me if I wanted to join her on a little sightseeing while we waitied to check in. Of course I said yes and as soon as my laundry was finished I put my clothes away and headed out to see the city. Approximately 5 hours later, as we walked back from the city center to go see the huge cemetary where all the famous composers are buried I was curious about why I had not thought about or looked at my phone all day, (I also use it as my clock) so I went searching through my bag and realized it wasnt there. Instead my dumb ass left it plugged into the wall completely out in the open for anyone to just grab and be gone with it. Yeah...my worries were validated when I arrived back at the hostel to find it was gone, all of it, and the reception desk had not had anything tunred in all day. So you can imagine my mood at this time. My phone is not just my phone...it is my alarm clock, my watch, my currency convertor, my connection to home. I am totally naked in Europe withoutmy phone. What the hell am I to do now? They dont sell calling cards in Austria apparently. I cancelled my service to my phone so atleast the bastard that stole it cant run up a huge international phone call. But hope he enjoys the 10 euro he gets for my phone since he wont get any more than that. Then he can drink a couple beers and be merry. I guess really the only thing I can do is laugh it off cause otherwise I would be completely miserable and want to fly home right NOW. I guess atleast it wasn't something super important like my credit card, or passport. (Knock on wood). I should be feel relieved at that. It just sucks a little cause not only did he get my phone, but he got my convertor and adapter plug. So I cant charge my ipod or my camera without one...looks like a unnecessary expense now. Hot dog! More money to spend..woo hoo!!!
Ok so seriously now that I got that off my chest I can go on to talk about beautiful, chillaxed, Vienna. I woke up super early this morning and headed to the Sunday Mass where the Vienna Boys Choir sing on Sundays. It was pretty darn cool. It is amazing to me how little boys of 5 and 6 and older can sing so beautifully and have been able to develop such amazing instruments at such a young age. I was completely blown away. I closed my eyes and the sound just took over. Gave me chills for sure. I enjoyed the mass even though I did not have a clue what the priest was saying. I really should take a look at my german phrase book. I keep forgetting I have it. Anywho after the service I headed off to enjoy the amazingly beautiful day. I went to the famous Prater Place with the Risengad, a giant, famous, ferris wheel. Instead of the individual cars, it has cars that hold about 20 people. You can see the whole city from the top. It was pretty cool. There is also a huge park behind it and an amusment park. I walked through there after my ride, just basking in the sunlight and watching the Viennese world go by. I walked passed a pond with two of the hugest swans I have ever seen. They were gorgeous. But very viscious animals I must say. They were hissing over and over again at this dog that kept getting close to them. Pretty funny I must say. After the park I decided to head down the check out the Danube River. Not really a pretty river as the symphony would leave us to believe. But nice. Atleast I got to see Swan Lake. Hehehe. Ok that was lame I know. Then I decided that I woke up entirely too early this morning and because I have no concept of time right now I headed back to the train to get my train to Prague tomorrow and then back to the hostel to type this blog. I think I will head up stairs for a power nap and then maybe out again later to enjoy my last night in Vienna.
I am excited about my hostel in Prague, it is more like a resort than a hostel and only 14 euro a night. I need the relaxation for sure. Talk to you soon. Auf Weidersehn. (sp?)

As the Bud Light guy would say..."Dude...not cool."
Bummer to hear about the phone situation dude - glad to see that you were able to vent though and not let it keep you down! It sounds like you are having an awesome time, meeting one of 12 male interior designers in the world who is not gay! (I kid, I kid!). I am enjoying living vicariously through your writing so keep 'em comin!
