The first class seats
Hi everyone

About 2 weeks ago, i went to Riobamba with the rest of the school to go on the devils nose train ride. Riobamba was pretty quiet and hasnt much to do with the best place in town for food doubling as the best nightclub. However did find an ecuadorian rock bar? Apparently ecuadorion rock consists of a crooner belting out cheesy love songs.

We found that the train was not running from riobamba and that we would have to pick up the train from Alausi. Bit gutting as the best bit of the journey is between riobamba and alausi. Anyway after getting up ridiculously early to catch the bus for the train we arrived in alausi at about 9a.m. For the journey along the devils nose everyone sits up on the roof of the train good. Pretty good fun but seemed quite tame after the volcanoe trip on the roof a truck.

When getting back to Quito, 3 english girls had arrived at the hostel. As usual salsa on monday night. Thurday we went to a place called papallacta at night. Its a big thermal baths on the side of volcanoe. Better than the baños baths and was really hot. After the baths, we began the real fun by introducing our swiss friend to english drinking games. Learnt how to swear in spanish at school this week which is always useful.

This weekend just gone i went to Atacames. This is the beach resort near the north of ecuador. Much warmer than Quito and was able to try out my new salsa skills. Good to just have a laugh at the beach. I got used as a climbing frame by the local kids. They have no fear of the gringo just jump on his back. Me, chris and ivan went for a banana boat ride. Managed to stop the banana flipping at the end to the annoyance of the boat driver. The rest of the time in atacambes was spent in the beach hut bars with the cocktails flowing and the two left feet dancing. Finished off with a fire on the beach (a bit glastonburyesq).

Back to Quito again for more school this week. Though we lost Heidi whos know off travelling and will loose liz later this week as they´re off to the jungle. But on Monday i became an Ecuadoria. Kind

Seg getting ready for a night out. She heard it impresses the ecuadorian men!
of. Got my visa completed and now am a kind of honary ecuadorian for 6 months. On monday night went out and met up with the english chicas again. The bar was playing the greatest wedding mix with the big finale being ´come on eileen´with the locals joining in with the kicks in the ring. A few strange looks but good fun all the same.

Hope everyone is keeping well and contact again soon

Hi David- sounds like your having a great time - last night the ref thought Barnet posed a threat to Unoted so he sent their goalie off after 90 seconds the influence Fergie still has! When you return I insist you do a demo of the salsa!

Salsa......everyone's talking about it
Hello Mate - everyone back here seems to be loving all this salsa stuff. You are certainly full of suprises! I've contacted Vanessa Feltz and she'd be thrilled to enter the next series of strictly come dancing with you! Footie update.... Keano is slagging off all the current utd players at the moment...that says it all. In other words, 4-1 defeat to boro last saturday. However, better news...Chelsea lost to Real Betis last night - Result. Lastly, Ollie's 1st B'day party is on Saturday. You'll be missed but i'll make sure there's a toast to our absent friend!
