So a little change of plans due to air fares being expensive from Hong Kong to Vietnam. We can both fly from here to Singapore for half the price of one of us to fly to Vietnam. We met someone from Singapore that gave us a few tips on the city and many other places in the world as he was very well traveled. A very interesting guy to say the least. Sindy found us a inexpensive hotel in the "red light district" LOL! so this should be interesting. Yesterday we met a Chinese lady (Ingrid) at the...OK I will say it... McDonalds (they have great coffee here) she was about 80 or so and spoke perfect English as she was a journalist in Bangkok when she worked. She loved visiting with people from the west. She read both of our palms (with deadly accuracy I might add). She did ask us for a little money after the reading but I had no problem giving her a few dollars as it was well worth it. It did feel like a hussle of any sort as the reading were so accurate (not like a generic horiscope that will suit anyone). If your in Hong Kong just walk out of the Chungking Mansion go straight across Nathan Rd. and enter the first McDonalds on your right....chances are you will find Ingrid...

Singapore
Hey Steve and Sind, We were in Singapore all day Feb 14th and all day 15th. You should have let me know and we could have met up in little India or Santosa...oh well. Maybe next time.

DOH! x2
It sounds like we were in the same places at the same time! We did both! Liked little India but we found Santosa way too touristy.....think you prob did to. Nice beach there but stupid prices. I found Singapore lacked a little for culture but the food was great. You have to get to Malaysia if you get the chance, the people and beaches and culture here are fantastic. We are off to Vietnam (Hanoi/Ha long) first then work our way down to Ho chi mihn and phucok island. Do you have anything to recommend?
