Sorry to keep you waiting. We left Chaing Mai and spent some time in Pai, a well known town for farangs to chill out amongst artists, musicians, hippis, and backpackers. When we arrived the slow pace drove a crazy. After the first day the rain came. And then we both got colds. Then it seemed the whole town got a cold. The weather improved for one day and then we were back in the rain. Both Alex and I had the whole work up. Runny nose with massive congestion. Also I had a terrible sore thoat. Then we got sicker. It was bound to happen and Pai was a fine place to get it. We took refuge at a fancy resort called Phu Pai Art Resort which had a fantastic view of the valley. We recovered there for 2 days, returned to Pai for a few more and then went out to May Hong Son which was much less touristy and has much more natural beauty. We returned to Pai for 2 more nights for the Reggae festival and to party with friends before finally making it out of there and heading up here to Chiang Rai which is even farther north. We now have several weeks left on our visa and not sure what we'll do before heading to Laos at the end of the month. Its no joke that you can lose yourself in Pai. Now that you've got a brief overview of the last few weeks we'll write about some more detailed exciting adventures!
Also thanks for all the comments you've sent to us! Please feel free to post comments on the blog itself to share with others!

yes. you HAVE been slacking
but i guess actually having a blog is far better than my sad attempts to keep in touch. by mid-next week you will have a floor to crash on just a touch further south of your current local. drink an ass-load of whiskey and pass out for a day or two. that usually cures my colds. more emphasis on the sleep, though. i heard that giving someone the bird in laos is complimentary! . . .
