Cancun

Day 1

We arrived at Cancun Airport at 5pm local time after a suprisingly good flight with Mexicana Airways. This time the weather was as expected glorios sunshine and very humid.
Finally got to our hotel in downtown cancun after faffing around at the airport trying to find the bus stop. We walked around from one terminal to the other & still no bus stop. So we decided to get a taxi but we think we were ripped off but by this point we could not care less.
The Hotel here was better than the hostel in L.A despite being cheaper. We had air conditioning (which is an absolute must) 2 double beds and a very modern shower room.
After a quick shower we went to explore our surroundings. Downtown Cancun is the real mexico dotted with salsa bars and little restauraunts. We then got on the bus towards the hotel zone after being showed around by two young mexican students (who were studying american/english). They were very friendly and were happy to practice there broken english.
We ended up in Senor Frogs which is exactly as I remember. Tried to get becci to go down the slide but she was too scared. We had dinner there and a couple of beers and enjoyed watching the American holiday makers,who clearly couldnt handle their drink, making fools of themselves.

Day 2

Awoke early & headed for the beach. Again rode the bus as this is by far the best way to get around, not only is it really cheap but its what the locals use.
It took us a while to find how to get onto the beach as most of it is owned by various hotels but we managed to find a public entrance. Once on the beach you can walk the full stretch & we walked alot of it stopping every so often for a swim.
Since the hurricane alot has changed since I was here last. I guess most of it had to be rebuilt afterwards. The same places are here but many in different locations so it was a bit confusing at first.
After spending most of the day at the beach we headed back to hotel to find we had a swimming pool too. The pool was empty and very cold so perfect to relax by.
It was reccomended to us that we should eat at la parilla. So we did and were not disappointed with the food and the great atmosphere and the price.
Later on we headed back to the hotel zone via bus to Coco Bongo. This was my favourite night club last time round and thought we needed a night out. Just as good as last time but with a few more shows. In case you are not familiar with the concept, Coco Bongo is your average nightclub but every 10 minutes the music stops & a show begins. Like at one point Spiderman comes down on a bungee rope fighting the green goblin or Michael Jackson tribute singing a medly of his hits.
We both had a good night and finally got back at 4am.

Day 3

After lie in finally got round the pool around 1ish & went for lunch in the hotel. Very relaxing day read our books and now here at a internet cafe writing this and checking emails.
Looking forward to tommorow as we start our Mayan Adventure trip.

Cancun Beach
We were sitting here drinking a few Sol's and two Mexican Fisherman walked passed us trying to carry a huge Swordfish around 7ft long. We couldn't get the camera switched on at this point (sorry) coz we were a little drunk!

We saw him carry 4 cocktails on his head apparently his record is 6! See him at La Parilla in downtown Cancun. Don't go to the others in Mexico nowhere near as good!

Hi guys sounds like your having a wicked time!! I am very jealous. I havent been u to much really boring work but pleased it was the weekend. Sounds like your eating loads of nice food yummmmy and doing lots of walking think of the cals bex lol!!! Well mum and dad are off today so funny they invited roger and carol for dinner last night (sat) hee hee they dont have a clue!!! i will let you know their reaction!!
