Greetings Guys and Gals,

Just before we start its been really nice hearing from you all its good to get a reality check now and then. Glad to hear everyone is cool (literally, as i hear its been raining lots!!!) Note too gaz, you do realise your comments get published on here ha ha. Its been great fun reading all your comments though x

Well Mt Kinabulu, as we said neva again. Mt Kinabalu is 4100 mtrs high and is in Sabah, North Borneo. We started about midday on the first day and after 4 hours and 6 km of uphill climbing we got to our log cabin about 3/4 of the way up the mountain! We were knackered and I (dan) got altitude sickness, felt proper s#!t. It was about 10 degrees, an thats alot colder than we are used to now days, We even got our first hot shower in two weeks! we had dinner and went to bed at 8 pm. Why i hear you ask...... cause they made us get up at 0230am to start climbing again. This time to the summit, it was quite amazing climbing in the pitch black and didn't feel to

Look at Jens Expression...Priceless!
much like the middle of the night, apart from you couldn't see anything. We arrived at the summit around 5am after 3 km in time for the sunrise, which happened but we couldn't see it because of the big black rainy clouds. Jen was about dead. Oh well the views were still fantastic. Can you believe it our guide still had mobile reception at the summit, which is more than you get in spondon!!! Obviously then we headed back down to the bottom (another 8.7km, all down hill).

We must of looked really rough as a chinese couple took pity on us and took us to the next town, fed and watered us and then took us to the hostel. Really nice of them as i don't think we could of walked another step. We then slept for the next 6 hours had a KFC then went back to bed for another 12 hours.......Seriously it was the most enduring thing we have ever done but are so glad we did it. But like we said never again.

We could hardly walk for the next 2 days but managed to get ourselves to a tropical island (Sapi) just off

Resting our tired bones.......
the coast of kota kinabalu. We found a remote beach and lay there all day and got burnt. Typical british holiday makers!!!!

We are now in the philippines where after 4 days have experienced our fair share of sleeping in brothels, 11 hour hair raising bus journeys and peaceful mountain retreats. More about that later as we are starving and need taste the extremely cheap beer, 40p get in!!! CHEERS
