Hi Guys
Still in Rio, the weather has changed with some rain but the humidity is high. On Sunday we hired 2 bikes from the porter at our hotel and took the bike route around Rio. It was good to see the local sites and get a bit of exercise! We stopped at one of the many beech huts along Ipanema beech and drank Coconut milk and corn-on-the-cob. Yum-yum!
Its carnival time! The streets around Copacabana and our hotel have hosted a number of street carnivals. We had tickets for the main Rio carnival that was televised live! We took the Metro to Central Station and joined the tens of thousands of spectators and participants on route to the carnival. All the floats were spectacular as you can see from the photos. Each parade lasted about 80 minutes and by the 4th parade and the time close to 3am we decided to skip the last parade and find our way back to the hotel before the crowds made the move.
Preparing for Argentina on 6th Feb. Rio is worth the visit!
