We left Sydney on the greyhound destined for Canberra. A lot of people had told us not to bother with Canberra but we wanted to break up the journey to Melbourne so we decided to give it a go! It is a planned city so very easy to navigate around. We went to the Parliament buildings on Capitol Hill - going into the House of Representatives and the House of Speakers. We also went onto the roof for a great view of Canberra. Australia's coat of arms features a kangaroo and an Emu apparently because these are the only native animals that cannot walk backwards so the country's mantra would be to 'always go forward'!! (Dad - Much like Camelot - you should suggest this logo to them at the next meeting!!). This was told to us by someone - but it could be completely false but I thought it sounded good! We wandered around the shops and then got the greyhound the following day to Melbourne.
