Yay, here he is!
After the short hike up to the Palace, and then the wait for him to come out and greet his people, the Emperor finally came out for Birthday wishes! Soo, forgive me for not asking, but how are you? How was your day? Ohhh really... uh-huh... uh-huh... Ok
Whatever... so I had an awesome day!! After being lost all day yesterday I think it was almost worth it to experience everything I got to today!! I did soo much!!
Started out with the mastery of the train system. I had to go to Tokyo Station so I could make my way to the Imperial Palace. It was raining softly, but it was really easy to find from the station. So many people turned up to say Happy Birthday to the Emperor. People out front handed out the Japanese flag and we hiked our way up towards the Palace. In fact its a rare treat for anyone to get to see as much as I did. It's only open to the public two days out of the year. It's only for a few seconds each day that the family comes out and gives a tiny speach and waves, but its totally worth it! Everyone screamed and waved their flags, one man bowed and threw his arms in the air, I even saw one woman crying.
Afterwards I took
a taxi to Tokyo Tower. I went to the top, or as close as i could without paying extra, and saw an amazing view of Tokyo. On every side there was nothing but buildings. No wonder Godliza is always attacking it!! It's a giant play ground to any monster! I was even pointed in the direction of Disney Tokyo and saw a few rides, don't think they came out too well on the camera tho. Still amazing.
There were a few other things to do else the admire the awesome view, so I read that the wax museum was kinda awesome. So I checked it out, more freaky then awesome, but worth the 500yen.
Afterwards I went walking through Central Tokyo. Looked like 7th Ave NY. Much nicer then the area I've been hanging out. I found the Pokemon Center (I should have guessed, also means Patrick, I got some cards for your son!) Tokyo. Afterwards I made my way into a Sushi Bar and ate some sushi. No one there spoke English, so I just said "Sushi" and gave up one finger (nooooo... not the middle one...) meaning I just wanted Sushi for one. I was handed
Tokyo Tower
Bigger then the one in Paris! a plate with a great assortment of sushi. I stayed away from the Tamago (sweet egg) and Shrimp head. But the miso, some of the best I've ever had in my life!!!!!! Very good. And not as costly as the place in Ueno park.
Afterwards, I tried out my skills on the 7/11 ATM. Yup, I mastered the atm in Japan, score!
Made my way back to Tokyo Station (after another $16 taxi ride) and hung out in a department store. Wow I am for real when I say I found a store that had chopsticks (hashi) for $36. I dont mean a set, I mean, a pair. For $36. I got out of that store quick. This department store had crystal hanging up and cheap shoes going for $308. Must be nice. I made my way down to the bottom and found a cool little grocery store. Picked up some snacks and scored when I found the Cheetos. Yup, found a small handful of American snacks in there (and they didnt cost me over $30 like every other item in this place!).
When I got back to the train station, I realized that a 4:58 the
Tokyo
A view from the tower, Tokyo looks like nothing more then one big concret playground! ticket station was already closed. Yup, hours until 5 and not a soul in the place. I freaked a little cause that meant I had to use the machine. I had no idea what I needed, to where, and what the hell was going on. But I found that magical 'English' button, and when they asked how much I wanted to pay, I rem. I only paid 150yen to get there, so I guessed thats how much I wanted to pay. I got in, looked up and realized which train I needed to get on to get back to Ueno station. YES! I am awesome!
Came back to Ueno, and hung out in a 6story toy store that had so many random things! I loved it! I spent some money there, but I also got a LOT of people's name crossed off my list. *sigh* doing all my christmas shopping in Japan, but it doesn't matter cause it's soo fun!!
Came back to the hotel, and now I will get ready to enjoy my last night in this place and get ready for tomorrow, cause then I journey to Kyoto!! I CANT WAIT!!!!!! (Just hope I can master
One of the coolest temples
This was one of my favorite temples in all of Japan! that at the train station, I get to the take the bullet train).
Now, in my place in Kyoto I dunno if there will be a computer lab like here. If so, Ill keep posting! Oh, and Im just being lazy and not adding pics to my blog as I write it. But I did add more pics to my gallary!
Thanks everyone for keeping track of me!! Please feel free to send me emails and let me know how things are going in the US!
