A 10-hour bus ride, there is not much to do without puking (i.e. can’t read), so I took photos. The text below the pictures make a little haiku-like photo-poem. You can at least enjoy the views if you don’t like my poem!

Before you go onto the poem…

A little update on the roads - the road from Lima to Ayacucho was not entirely completed until 1999, that’s why it’s so good!

Another update on the buses - Expreso Molina, the bus company that I used three times and never had problems with has been shut down indefinitely due to their numerous, and some fatal, accidents. Very scary!

Update on the movies and music they play in the bus:

The movies so far that I have had the privilege of ignoring have been The Mask (with Jim Carrey), The Fast and the Furious 4 (sounds so appealing, a fourth! installment), and a movie with Chow Yun Fat. I don’t understand why they play so many action movies when there are so many old people on the bus. Some of the movies are dubbed in castellano , while others have not.

The CDs they play are so old, for example, I had the honor of listening to the first ever album of the Backstreet Boys from 1995 (yes, it’s also not such a compliment to me that I actually knew that it was the first CD of BSB, but I was young and naïve back in the 90ies, lol). I really don’t know where they find these CDs.

Now onto my poem! (By clicking on the first photo you can view the photos in larger sizes with the poem onto your right).

Ta-ta.

Hahahahaha! Oh the sarcasm;) Sometimes it's a lifesaver! 10 hr bus ride, and no books? Hm, two words; mp3 player ;)
