Our German Friends
4 - 0 to the Engerland Thought we had better catch up on a few things while we can. We had only one place left to visit on the Island of Koh Lanta and that was the Old Town, so it was off on the trusted moped and with great speed, well almost 20mph we trundled our way along the dirt track until we came across the old but somehow quaint little place. The best way to describe the town would be slightly Olde American Western style, it was untouched by modern man and was all the better for it. Again we were treated like mini celebreties as children came up to us asking to shake our hands, Posh and Becks eat your heart out....lol
One place that is definately worth a mention on the Island is Aunt Maes which does the best milk shakes ever, and above this little eatery is a fine bar which very much caters for us westerners. It was in said bar that we met up with 2 fine guys Gerhard (Austrian) and Holger (German), both living in Koh Lanta and training to become diving instructors. In the spirit of good faith and in the tradition of sportsmanship we challenged them

should have gone to Specsavers to a game of pool. We dont like to brag or anything but 4-0 guys, come on were you really trying. Why dont they make pub games part of the Olympics, we would be brill. Good luck with the diving Guys and you are both truly gents.
We left Koh Lanta on the 3rd and headed off to Krabi, which is a small town where backpackers appear to gather to plot the next part of their journey, bit like us really. Off the ferry our taxi driver promised us a good room for a very reasonable price, it goes without saying we will not be taking their kind advice in the furture, we could have had a fantastic place for the price we paid but you learn something everyday. There was not really a lot to say about Krabi other than their fantastic night market which does nothing else than sell food, I was in heaven. After only a couple of days we decided to head off to Ao Nang which is a very touristy place and has everything one could want. Longtail boats flood the beaches looking for trade to take on their numerous tours to various Islands,
Koh Lanta
Beautiful view from the Old Town I could have a suit for everyday of the week for a couple hundred quid and enough taxis to make sure you never have to walk more than 3 feet. We are here for the rest of this week and yet undecided where to go next, however we really would like to see Railay Beach and maybe go back to Phi Phi prior to heading North, we will see.
We went kayaking in the mangroves this morning which was tremendous fun, especially when the monkeys jumped out of the trees, landed on the kayaks and started jumping from one to another looking for food. Luckily it was not too hot today so we were able to manage the kayaking without too much trouble. Would deffinately recommend this trip to anyone coming and at around 350 baht per person it is tremendous value, well worth it for the scenary alone.
Ao Nang does not have the best beach in the world and at certain times of the day when the tide is out, you can walk to the small Islands which are approx 500 metres from the beach at full tide, this appears to be the in thing with
Kayaking
Which way boss the locals. Pleased to say things are looking up on the Lady/Boy front, we appear to have moved into a 2nd devision area, the local ageing gentleman appear to walk away well happy with one on their arms (its the money they love you doughnuts, not you).
One of the games we are playing at the moment is see how many people you can fit on a moped, so far its 5 however we are hopefull of more when we reach Bangkok. We are spending another week here in Ao Nang so will not have much to report back until such tim we meet our friends in Bangkok next week. Be good everyone and dont work too hard.....this is killing us......not.
Now you know how we said we were going to try and make a few bob, well not one for holding back check out this fantastic looking cushion cover (can be seen on ebay), orders are now being taken dab in quick while stocks last.
