It was very sad to say goodbye to Bolivia, but the sight of our first stop in Argentina was enough to take our mind off it! It was like coming home! Well, to a home where everyone speaks Spanish (and with a completely different accent) but everything was so modern and green! After crossing the border, we passed through a number of pretty towns, and arrived in Salta in the afternoon. We quickly found ourselves a hotel, had a bit of a rest and then headed out to what is probably the best steak restaurant in the world. Viejo Jack´s if anyone is in the area. Steaks the size of dinner plates, so lean and juicy...absolutely amazing. Perfect with a little bit of mash and a bottle of wine.
There are so many things to do in Salta, but ashamedly, we did none of them. We spent our time in Salta drinking beer (called ´Salta´) and eating steak and sitting in nice little cafes by the plaza, watching the world go by. We did take a ride up on the cable car, but then it was so hot that we sat in the cafe drinking beer and eating cheese and
bread. I think the most exciting thing that happened was that I drank too much at lunch, fell down in the toilets and now I have a little scar on my arm.
There are lots of things to do in and around Salta, but Jamie was very keen to get to La Cumbre and start his paragliding course. We were very excited to be moving on to a new town, but even more excited when we went to the bus station to catch our bus to Cordoba. Such luxury! After a month of travelling around Bolivia on dodgy old dirty crowded buses, we were going to travel on a cama bus. With an actual comfy reclining seat. Assigned seating! And air conditioning! And it was clean! Never have we been so happy!

You have no idea, after 2 years in Argentina, how much we relish the idea of returning to Bolivian buses!!!
