Champagne!Champagne!Champagne!

Popping the cork at the Netter's Leaving The Country and She's Going To Miss You Party in Toronto
It is almost time for the next chapter in the cruising adventures to begin!

Since my Melbourne Marathon, I did a couple more tours with Keating: one to Stratford/Toronto and another to Quebec City. I drove all over the province of Ontario to schools for parent presentation nights. Lots of work. But it also left me with lots of time for fun with friends in Toronto, or in cities I was already travelling to/through with work.

And I was maid of honour in Kristin & Rod's wedding! The wedding was November 3rd and it was incredible. Everything was beautiful and Kris was stunning. Perfect day. And was it ever fun! Simply a great crowd of people who love to have fun who were all so genuinely happy to celebrate with Rod & Kristin. The wedding and all of the events leading up to it were a lot of work and over the last year I've made a lot of choices about what I was personally doing to ensure I could be there for it all. But it was worth it. I'm so happy for them.

This fall I was living in an apartment in Toronto. So wonderful (and kind of bizarre) to actually have my own place for awhile! I loved being in the city, having my own space, being so close to friends to come & go with. But last week I left my lovely little place and moved everything back to Dunnville where it'll be staying while I go off to galavant around the globe again. Since getting back to Haldimand County I've been getting in visits with family and just generally getting organized for departure.

So what's the deal with this next adventure that's about to begin?

This Sunday (Nov. 25th), I will be flying out of Toronto, through Atlanta, to San Juan, Puerto Rico. There I am signing onto the Carnival Destiny. Yes, the ship assignment has stuck! I will be taking over the Club O2 Director role from a girl named Ashley, who I've been emailing over the last month. She only has great things to say about the ship, which is good to hear. I've been feeling really nervous, even anxious, about the ship. Yes, I've done this before. But it's not going to be the same experience. It's like going to one high school, having a great time, then

transferring to another school. Even in the same school board, the same city, it's still a different school, different administration, different people. Certain aspects of what is in store for me - the work, the ports, those things I'm certain about and am excited for. But the ins and outs of the world I'm about to go and live in, those things have me nervous. Those nerves will likely stay with me through the first cruise or two.

But those ports - they're what have me excited! Especially as winter is steadily arriving here at home. It hasn't even really begun, but already I'm tired of cold, grey, rain, snow. The warmth of the tropics await me. Within my first week down there I'll see Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia and Antigua! Those six ports will be included in each weekly cruise until the end of the year. Whenever I'm getting too anxious, I just look through the tour options, the sites to see, the beaches to visit . . .

Soon.
