Sept 16 & 17

Stayed at Namtso Lake (4700m) for 2 days and 1 night. A very holy lake for Tibetans with many peole walking the Kora (a spiritual walk following a certain route) around the rocky outcrop whilst chanting and taking in the spectacular lake and mountain scenery. The high altitude and very clean air results in striking colours and starry nights with the Milky Way clearly visible. Because the Lake is holy no one is allowed to bathe, swim (well...except for the yak) nor use a boats on it.

Great to hear from you...
I can only imagine that ski season has probably already started. I hear it has been cold in Canada lately. Are you still cycling ? I haven't cycled since I arrive in KTM as the traffic here is crazy...but hope to do some cycling maybe in Burma or Laos. Cheers, Susan
