Next stop after the ferry trip over was Wellington a City in the North Island, We only had two days and here and didn’t arrive until late the first day. So didn’t get to see a lot of the city though what I did see impressed me. It seemed like a nice place but they call it the windy city and this was no joke as soon as you stepped out the hostel heading for Dominoes for our cheap pizzas you almost got blown away.
The next day we visited the museum had a go at the murder mystery section which turned out to be a joke, and know one could be bothered so the 7 of us left. On the way home we spotted a sign saying 24 hour party people and a list of bands the Dj would be playing The Libertines, Stone Roses, Oasis, Pulp, Baby shambles you name it so we all decided to head there that evening
This night turned out to be probably the best yet danced all night, then England beat Australia in the rugby, great ending to an awesome evening. From here we headed to a couple more towns, One of which was Rotorua where we visisted an authentic Maori evening, which included dancing, visits to their villages, and food which was cooked their traditional way in the ground, which supprisingly enough turned out to be really nice. Then we reached Auckland our departure city. From here we visited the bay of Islands where we did a day trip. Visiting the most Northern point of new Zealand and some sand dunes where we were given body board to Cruz down on, which was fun but you had to run up the hill every time you wanted a go which proved to be a work out in its self. On this trip we had the most annoying driver who’s voice went straight threw you, he was so boring he even suggested that people may want to come to the front and film the Speedo as he was driving fast on the beach uh oh naughty, what a numpty.
One night here we made……. Well Gary made and fair play to him made it well a huge beach fire, which we all gathered around trying to keep warm with beers from over the road the fire was going well, played some drinking games and were joined by a few random people that didn’t stay long ha. Gary passed out and it was time to head back to the hostel,
The next day we got a boat over to another part of the North Island where the oldest pub in New Zealand is and had a drink there obviously.
Then it was time for our last Big green bus journey all together. The entertainment exceeded its self with the Rickey Gervais stand up of Animals
That night we were saying our goodbyes to Rachel and Amy, though not until about 4am so we had a few drinks for our last night. As Gary and I were also leaving the next day.
Then its back to real travelling again and Chile South America
