Here are some pics from Mongolia. I'm working on the slide show but I figure a couple of pictures might be good to not only to hold you guys over but also to prove that I'm in Mongolia and that this isn't all just an elaborate lie that I made up. Enjoy!

Top of the Mountain
We hiked up to the top of a mountain not too far from our field station so we could get a nice view of the valley and also add a few more prayer flags.

The Ur River
Me, Brant, Jon and Char on top of a mountain. Behind us is the Ur River and the little valley where the field station is located. Notice the lovely fall colors behind us.

Now that's a big trout
Jon is happily holding the largest taimen caught on this trip. I think, and don't quote me on this, it was 115cm long. It was a nice fish! Good work Jon!

Burbot anyone?
This lovely little fish that I'm holding is a burbot (I think that's spelled correctly) and it is a member of the cod family. It is super slimy like it's covered in snot and it has a tail like an eel so it's really hard to hold on to. I have some great burbot wrestling photos I'll share later.

Happy family
This is one of the many group photos we took at camp. We had a lot of people coming and going but for the most part, this was my "family" for the last 3 weeks.
