iligan city
maria cristina falls Iligan City is a two and a half hours drive from Opol, Misamis Oriental. We left Opol at 1pm and arrived at Iligan City at around 3:30pm. Upon reaching Iligan, we proceeded directly to Maria Cristina Falls as it was our destination in the first place. After visiting the Iligan City Hall, we didnt have much time to roam around the City of Iligan because of limited time as we had to go back to Opol that same day.
"Maria Cristina Falls is a waterfall in Mindanao Island (Lanao del Norte) and a landmark of Iligan City, also known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls. It is located 8.5 kilometers away southwest of the city proper. Well-known for its natural beauty and grandeur, the 320 feet high waterfalls is also the primary source of power for the city's industries and the whole Mindanao region. NPC has established its Maria Cristina Power at outer foot of the falls."
