Unsurprisingly, I wimped out of doing the cycle down the death road and went shopping instead. Bought a new pair of jeans to replace the ruined ones and to be honest am surprised I got my size considering how small Bolivians are.

Visited the witches' market in the afternoon, and quite seriously could have bought a whole ton of crap though whether I would have got various dead animals through US customs is debatable, so stuck with a good luck llama charm (not a real one) and a present for someone else.

Went to a nice restaurant in the evening followed by a couple of cocktails where the manageress told me she wanted to grant my wishes. Sadly this wasn't a chat up line, but just her poor english - she wanted to know if I wanted anything else.

Had about enough of La Paz now, it's pretty filthy. I've seen enough people (men and women) pissing in the street to last me a lifetime, plus I've been called a motherfucker by a bunch of kids, so time to do one I think.

Oh, one other point, the girls have come up with a new nickname for me - Jon Peache. I've tried to explain that this is actually my name, but they insist that it's something they invented, not my parents some 27 years ago. You see what I have to put up with...
