Falls 1
Iguacu Falls from the boat Hello again.
Since I last wrote, we spent the best part of 2 whole days on the bus, stopping only to wee and camp overnight on some grass next to a petrol station. Classy. Luckily we were kept entertained that night by Lynette and Judy who downed a bottle of blue label vodka in the space of about 10 minutes during a game of 'I Have Never'.
Arrived at Foz do Iguacu on Tuesday at 5 ish, at a campsite which is pretty much up to European standards - much better than the forecourt of a BP.
Didn't do a great deal that night, ate here and had a few beers, then yesterday took a trip to the falls themselves, the widest waterfall in the world, apparently.
The trip was partly by dinghy (we got soaked) and partly walking up to Devil's Throat (we got soaked again). My experience of waterfalls to date pretty much stops at the time my guttering broke, so I was suitably impressed. Apparently the view is even better from the Argentinian side, but we'll see.
Last night we went to a cabaret show/meat fest where we basically ate a shedload of
Falls 2
View of the falls from the boat again meat then watched a performance of all the region's dances; the samba, the tango, the macarena. Not really my thing, but vaguely entertaining. That could have been the wine though.
Not done a great deal today, went into town to buy a wire so I can plug my iPod into the stereo on the bus and educate everyone else in proper music. I'll ease them in gently, maybe starting with Berlin by Lou Reed. That'll cheer everyone up.
Over the border into Argentina tomorrow, and it's my turn to cook so I'm expecting an outbreak of dysentery at some point over the weekend. Still, I have plenty of Imodium, so I'll be fine at least.
Until next time...
