After a couple of days in Krabi Town, which were mostly rained out, we made our way to Ao Nang.
As our 30 day Thai tourist visa is nearly up, we needed to get round various places quite quickly. Upon arriving in Ao Nang we spent the afternoon wandering along to Noppharat Thara beach with its millions of tiny crabs. Next day we took a longtail boat trip to Hong Island and 4 other islands clustered around it to do some snorkelling. Hong Island is a gorgeous island with a lovely secluded beach and lagoon, we did some snorkelling, then ate lunch and had an encounter with one of the island's inhabitants... a 1.5 metre long monitor lizard! It was hard to leave Hong Island, but we spent the rest of the day enjoying the snorkelling around all the other little islands which had some excellent coral reefs and plenty of colourful underwater life (we saw a family of Nemo fish and parrot fish!).

The next day we made the short taxi boat journey around the headland to Railay and a place called Ton Sai beach, we stayed in a nice little bungalow and the food was good. Railay is stunning, a picture perfect paradise, which can be said for a lot of the Andaman Coast. We spent that afternoon relaxing on the beach. That evening, after discovering massaman curry, we laid back on the decking of the open roofed bar with a beer and watched the stars, our view framed by the limestone cliffs to our left and palm trees to our right whilst listening to Moby and the sound of the waves. Awesome!

Next day, we rented out a sea kayak for half a day and went on a little exploration around the coast. After passing by the 700 pound a night resort with its own beach, and paddling further on we found our very own tiny, deserted beach and chilled out there. After a while we made our way back to Ton Sai and watched the sun go down over the bay, turning the sky into a beautiful myriad of colours.

We definately recommend this part of Thailand to everyone, we have been lucky with the weather at this time of year. If you get the weather, there is no better place. Now its off to Malaysia...

Well.....
You think that sounds good, let me give you my own blog entry just to make you feel jealous. This morning I woke up, early, and it was grey overcast and threatening to rain. I got stuck behind a tractor all the eay to work and my car got covered in mud. I am now sat at my computer, where I shall be for at least 45 hours this week answering emails. For lunch I suspect I shall have a disgusting sandwich preparred by the hygenically challanged hairy dave from around the corner. By the time i get home from another mundane day at work I will be too tired/too lazy to go to the gym and will probably gorge myself on takeaway curry. I expect tomorrow to be much the same. Now that's living.......... Missing you guys loads, hurry home!!
