Rarotonga, The Cook Islands

WE have been here for just over a week now and it has been so so brilliant! The weather is beautiful, the sea is turquoise, the sand is white and we have met some great people at the place we are staying = Rarotonga Backpackers! Hopefully you will like the photos we have taken to try and give you an idea of the beauty here. Really sad to be leaving tonight at midnight - catching a plane to LA, should take 9 hours or so. We are going to stay there for 2 nights, then fly to Las Vegas, have our go at gambling in the Casinos here and there, then fly back to LA and finally, fly back to London!

We have been staying at a place called Rarotonga Backpackers, which has been great. Earlier today (saturday) we got up very early and hopped on our rented Scooter and headed down to the local saturday market which starts at 7am and closes at 12pm. Its worth getting there early and seeing the best of the market as we went last week and only managed to catch the end of it! There are some beautiful things there, from Shells, cook island shirts, jewellery, local veg and fruit, local music and dancing. . . never ending. We have had such a brill time here, I would say its even more relaxing than Fiji, maybe more expensive, but the weather is gorrrrrrgeous and I dont want to leave!

Cook Islands
How beautiful it looks. What a good idea to go there - I had never heard of it. Richard and Hil fly to Bermuda on Wednesday so they will be somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic when you fly overhead! Looking forward very much to seeing you on Saturday at the airport - please let me know what flight so I can check on arrival time. Tons of love Mum

Hello there, what fantastic photographs, it truly looks like paradise, we are all very envious of you.I am so glad you have both had that experience though. By now you will be in the bustle of LA.
