Day 1 in Malmo

Hello all, welcome to the Malmo Blog! I'll try to update it as much as possible but I will be spending a bit of time on Facebook as well so if you have an account there, check me out there!

To begin the story... both Amanda and I did not feel, even as we were landing in Sweden, that this journey was beginning. We felt that it started the moment we saw a viking ship (which we assume was a tourist attraction, but nonetheless, a viking ship) and then got excited (probably aided by the tremendous amount of espresso in our bodies) by the concept of going to school here.

Malmo is a beautiful city, with the whole 'cobblestone street experience' and has the same coffee culture as Vancouver, if not more coffee places, and of all bizarre things, NO Starbucks. Its surrounded by ocean and is almost like an island, being that nearly every direction you head, you end up at the beach, I can't complain!!!

Our best experience thus far has definitely been trying to go to the bathroom. First, they wanted an entire Canadian dollar (universally) to use the toilet. We ended up going in McDonalds which still charged 5kr (1 canadian) and upon closing the door, the lights turned OUT so it was complete blackness and we were left to feel our way around which really is quite unpleasant in a bathroom that is not your own. Special times. We succeeded and moved on! Besides that, Amanda lost one of her luggages so we're hoping it will be delivered today from the airline.

I've forgotten my converter at a friend's house in Vancouver, and Amanda's is in her luggage so we're doing a great job of not being able to use anything at all. YAY!

Today we're going exploring, job hunting, bank account setting up, and looking for a gym for me because its going to get too cold to run soon!

That's it, I'll upload photos once I can use my own laptop again....when I get a converter.
