So Rachael and I are at a cyber on our way home from work, which by the way I start on weds! AHHHH Wish me luck please. And pray for me. Lots. haha.
So Saturday we sat around all day and then we went to this neat youth service at a big church and we sang and danced a little (dancing in church isnt so accepted here) and then hung out. When we got back I was exhausted so I just went right to bed.
Sunday I got up and went to church. Their sunday morning church is neat because after Pablo gives his sermon the floor is open for the people to respond. It was neat because this one man went on a huge rant about how when women arent allowed to preach or be pastors its enslaving them and I was like YES!!! haha. After that we hung out for a little while and then I took a nap because the heat, adjusting to the language and all, it gets really exhausting. After that Rachael and I went to Nanieskas house. She is the girl whos family I stayed with when we did home stays on the Mission of Peace. Nani gave us pedicures and her aunt did our hair haha. It was really fun and strangely girly for me. I actually feel more of an influence to be girly here because girls wear skirts a lot more often and its strange. And after getting so dirty at Chacocente, being girly is sort of nice. I come home COVERED in mud and sweat and yeah. Ive never sweated so much in my life. Sorry for the details. haha. It started raining A LOT while we were at Nanis and I finally decided I wanted to go back to my house for culto. Well when I got to the road our house is on it was completely flooded but lucky for me Isaac and Baru were coming to get me hahaha so they helped me walk back. Everyone was at the church just hanging out so we spent the whole evening standing in the driveway (which slopes up so water doesnt get in, thank god) watching the silly people in cars and trucks attempt to get through. We did help some of them though. But then a guy in a big truck drove down the road against the flow of the water and it made a huge wave that went into the church so we all rushed in to sweep and mop the water out. (Its only a large room with tile floors, no basement or anything) so it wasnt a big problem. The fun thing was the wet floor was veryyyy slippery so we were all sliding and doing penguin slides on our stomaches and the guys were trying to wrestle. I even got them to play hockey! hahaha. But it was just so much fun. We all hung out for a while after we got dry and then I went to bed.
Project again today! Long commute but I really enjoy the insanely packed buses and the gorgeous bike ride. Im getting back into shape very quickly. Charito was there and SHES GETTING MARRIED! AND I GET TO GO TO HER WEDDING! AHHHHHH!!!
Oh and mom I think the cultural difference isnt that the girls are at home cooking really or anything I just dont think they hang out so much.
But I gotta go. Love you all tons!
