Arhus
View from beach. We have head north into Denmark and the weather is crap, so much for summer and camping.
Maybe, if we are lucky, we can have a beer with Mary. Not likely.
Our first port of call is, well, the port town of Arhus. We have travelled to the most northern point on our trip as we can't afford too much of Scandinavia. There is some great forest in Arhus so naturally a short hike is in order and a quick kick of the footy. The beach we walked to is small and only stones, so not the best footy ground but oh well.
We quickly discover that there isn't much to do in Arhus so hitting the pubs is the best option. Against all our will we went to an Aussie pub, it was pretty funny. They had a photo of Cameron Ling on the wall- go the red beacon! We opted not to drink Aussie beer and left soon after we downed our drink. It also had the Herald Sun plastered all of the ceiling.
We got wind of a Uni party so we headed over to that, we met 2 Aussies on exchange. We seem to

Harbour at Roskilde be everywhere.
After Arhus we made our way to Copenhagen with a quick stop in Roskilde (famous for a music festival and Vikings). We had to cross a massive bridge to get to the island Copenhagen is on, $50 aussie I think it cost! Won't complain about City Link now!
Copenhagen is a great city and it put on some great weather during the day, not so great at night.
We met up with another one of Shaun's friends, Anne (prounced kind of like Anna). She took us around for a few drinks on the river and gave us the heads up on what to see. The following day we took a cruise on the canals and went to a hippy commune at an old naval base called Christiana (or something like that). You can't take photos in the commune which really sucks as it was pretty cool. All the little old buildings have been painted and graffitti art is everywhere. I guess they don't like photos because of all the pot smoking devices and pot they sell.
We met up with Anne again so she could show us the Museum she is working at and the

We then decided to head over to Sweden for the evening as they had a free music festival on. It only takes 30 minutes on the train. We saw the most tragic metal band called Hammerfall, the played complete with pyrotechnics, fire and bad leather outfits. Once we got our fill of metal we headed over to see The Lemonheads, very good. Thank you Sweden for free music!
On the train back to Denmark we met to crazy girls both called Ken, they told us about a cool pub to go drinking in so we headed out with them for the night. It was a cool venue, graffitti everywhere, cheap beer and lots of trashed Danes. You could even go bare footed as long as you didn't complain if your feet got cut!!
With Denmark done and dusted we head back to Germany via ferry, the first ferry we went to had to be booked in advance so we had to drive another 70kms back up the road to get another one!
After 7

Houses along the canal. hours we finally made it to Berlin. We met Shaun's g'friend and one of her friends for the weekend and headed to our rented apartment, very nice! Berlin is an awesome city, there is so much to do and see that it is hard enough to know where to start (I will keep this brief as I could go on for hours). We decided to go with a free walking tour and it payed off. Our guide was an Aussie who has been in Berlin for 11 years and is studying German History(doing his PhD) so we hit the jackpot. We saw all the big sites and learnt heaps of the history on the way. The sites included: Hotel Adlon-Michael Jackson hung his baby out the window, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, where Hitlers bunker used to be and of course, the Wall.
That night we went on a pub crawl, not really worth it but what are you going to do.
Slightly tired but not really hung over the next morning we took a walk to see some of the sites again and then headed to the Pergomon Museum. It was pretty cool as it house the Pergomon
Malmo Music Fest
Hammerfall, the best band ever! Altar and the Gate of Babylon. The rest got a bit boring after a while. That night we headed to the Reichstag and climbed to the top of the dome, great view.
Today we checked out a monument of Victoria (not sure who or what she did), a big gold angel and climbed that too. I've lost count of the amount of stairs there are to climb in Europe. We said goodbye to the girl and I drove 6 1/2hrs straight to Poland! But that can wait for another day.
