Hi Everyone

Here it is…. the much anticipated first BLOG entry!!! ‘Anticipated’ not really for the fascinating stories I will be telling (hopefully), but mainly because most of you didn’t know what a BLOG was in the first place (mentioning no names Kathy, Iris and Lorraine). I sound as if I know what I’m talking about, but its all new to me as well I’m afraid, hence this little tester entry to make sure I can get through to you all (thought you’d got rid of me didn’t you)!

Firstly, I hope I haven’t missed anybody out on the “BLOG register” if I have and you hear about it, let me know and I’ll include them straight away, although you can access any messages I write through the internet anyway! This BLOG is simply here to avoid sending group emails but I will be using my email address as well, if anyone needs/wants me!

As most of you know, I am officially on holiday/unemployed as of 27th July. Oddly enough the same week the sunshine chooses to show his face! Preparation for the trip has, of course been a priority and if preparing my skin for the South American sunshine is something I have to do, then I plan to do it well. Therefore sunbathing has been a main component of my week so far.
Highlights include, falling asleep on a sun chair (quite normal) and waking up on the same sun chair but the wrong way round i.e. on my tummy (It wasn’t a flat sun bed, try and picture that one!)I’m sure the dreaded next door neighbour had a great laugh at my expense as I’m guessing the roll around wasn’t an elegant one! Either way I’m sun burnt - look out South America!!!!

I have spent half on my savings in Boots on every type of cream, ointment, tablets, dressing and vaccination you can imagine, I’m a little like a rabid, walking health centre. It’s now just a case of stuffing it all into my back pack, oh and carrying the backpack half way around the world.

Considering I haven’t done anything yet, I’m talking loads. Better leave you all now and take the tags off my backpack and possibly consider packing it!

Boring
So far your Blog is even more boring than mine!!! Just an advance warning - you will hate your bag after a matter of days and you'll wish you never brought half of the stuff in it with you. Ask yourself now whether you need that 5th padlock, those rubber gloves, the plastic cuttlery, the wet-wipes, the 24 pack of condoms and the second packs of savlon and immodium (ok, maybe the immodium should stay!).
