That's the sound of my new bell on my new bike! 😊 I caved in and bought one! The bike is cheapo - 258 rmb and 45 rmb for a heavy chain lock. The seat is uncomfortable and hard, and I made the seat a bit lower for safety, although a pain to ride. I got back from the bike store in 7 minutes or less; walking would have taken me at least 30 minutes. I'm so excited - I can explore much more of my neighborhood this way!

Today I bought skippy peanut butter and jelly to make my own snacks. I didn't think I'd be that girl who buys American products, but I sure miss some "American flavors." I especially especially miss cheese. I get an green onion/egg pancake in the morning sometimes, and I wish I could tell the guy to hold to preserved pickle (zha cai) and bring him my own shredded cheddar to put on.

I know I keep complaining about the heat. Keep in mind that I come from a place where the summer is 70 F degrees all summer long. This is what Yahoo weather has to say about Saturday:

Tomorrow: Mainly sunny. Hot. Heat index near 110F. High 97F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

Do you see the part about 110F??!!
