Hi all!

Well we have moved into our flat in Hammersmith which is in West London and in Zone 2 - so pretty close to everything and really very central. The flat is a tiny studio flat but has everything we need and is also in a very central area - underground, supermarkets, etc are all around us.

The past few days have been crazy to say the least - we have had SO much to organise, but we are sowly getting there. Damian starts his job tomorrow - its his trial at a very very posh restaurant in Richmond called The Victoria - you can see it on the web at www.thevictoria.net

As for me, I am still looking for something but did have an interview today in Notting Hill which went quite well but have to wait a few days to find out....

The day we moved our stuff here we got completely SOAKED - it was pouring and we had to walk with our luggage from the train station to the flat (we didnt know where it was)....we both looked as though we had jumped into a pool! it was awful!!!!

Since we have been in London we have briefly visited Hyde Park, Harrods and Oxford Street. We spent today exploring Soho and Covent Gardens - luckily it didnt rain today like it did yesterday when we braved Oxford street and its multitude of umbrellas!!!! We went Knife shopping for Damian today as there is a special chef shop in Soho - which we eventually found! We couldnt resist paying the South African Shop and Bok Bar in Covent Gardens a visit - and of course HAD to buy some boerewors and good ol' Mrs. Balls!! Oh and Hamley's the HUGE toy store was also one of the places we went to today - its amazing. Covent Gardens is near all the theatres and there are really some incredible shows on - I really have to be SUPER-disciplined over here - or I'll end up spending every cent I earn!

We have also been to Wimbledon to visit a friend and walked around Richmond (which is a really nice area and is also where the school I am going to is).

We've been getting phone numbers, opening bank accounts, looking for jobs and just trying to settle in but so far we are having a blast!!!!

The weather here is so unpredictable - you have to take an umbrella and jacket with you even if the sun is shining and there's not a cloud in sight when you leave the house - before you know it theres thunder and lightning and it POURS!!!! but I guess that's something we will get used to.
