I just don't know where to begin. I guess I should start with our trip to Lake Taupo on Saturday. We went and did some shopping and Cat and I went a checked out a band that was playing at the park. We then went and found Erica and watched the fireworks. We decided to head to a pub Mulligians and have some beer and figure our itenerary for the rest of our trip.
Sunday morning we woke up and it was an absolutly beautiful blue sky sunny day. The girlz had booked their skydiving the day before and I tagged along but didn't really want to spend the money and first. We got to the skydiving place after getting ready at our McD's breakfast/getting ready daily roution. We haeded over to the skydiving place and the girlz were getting there prep talk and I thought "Should I go for it?". Yes!!! So I signed my life away. Sorry Dad😊 lol and we got ready to jump. I have never done anything this crazy. We had an option of doing a jump at 12,000 or 15,000 feet and We all said Go BIG or go Home. So we had
to have our suits, harness, hat and gloves put on and then ourtandem master's came and found us to go over the whole thing. My Tandem master's name is Roy. He had a wedding ring on so I figured he has someone awiting at home for him, so it was a sure bet that he wanted to live lol. So the girlz and I decided to have a liitle dance before we went on the plane to get our minds off of the jump. We then were called in and it was time to board the plane. We each went in with our Tandem master and I happend to go in last. Knwoing full well that I was going to be the first one out of the plane, it was a bit comforting cause I didn't have to wait. The first group jumped out @ 12,000 feet an then they closes the door and put our oxygen masks on as we raised to 15,000 feet. It was time. The green light was on and Roy was like "Are you ready?", I was silent. All I was thinking is what the hell did I get myself into. Here we go. I
didn't dare look down. I just remember this rush of feelings and then just falling, but witha cushion of air holding me from plumiting to my death. I never thought I would ever go through with it, but I did. Who knows maybe I'll do it again. It was awesome when Roy pulled the shoot and I realy go to see the amazing view of Lake Taupo with the Mountains in the background.
Sunday night we decided to head to see the mountains in the Ruapehu National Park. We saw a beautiful sunset and then found a campsite for the night after having a few beers @ the resort hotel.
Monday we went to Tawhai falls where they filed the farries on Lord of the Rings. It was a nice short walk which was perfect, because we still had lot's planned for the day. We drove to see the Glowworm caves which was about a three hour drive, and it was a short tour cause the water level is so high. Our guide said the water level has gone up more in the last two years then it has in the past 100 years. Good old global warming😞
So Erica decided to go for another tour of some differnet caves and Catherine and I decided to go to the Shearing place. We thought we were going to see sheeps being seared and to our surprise there were bunnies. Angora bunnies. I bought a pretty pink pair of angora mitts since it;s so freaking cold here and we left to go and find the price of hostels. Cat and I found a top 10 campsite/hostel with pool, hot tub, laudry, e-mail, kitchen and our own beds. We only had to pay$20 each which is a steal of a deal. We all sat in the hot tube waiting for our laundry and had a couple bottles of wine. We then all had 30min showers and then watched out Skydiving DVD. I had a great sleep last night and we all had some breakfast and we were off to Rotorura. We got here at about 12:30pm and stopped off for some lunch. We decided to go to Paradise Valley Springs and do Zorbing tomorrow. We got to pat lion cubs and watch the full grown lions getting feed. We walked around and got to feed goats, sheep, pigs and all sort of
animals. I had such a great time. I can't wait for tomorrow awsome adventures!
