Team enjoyed a good journey , good service and food on flight. Plenty of complimentary drinks and movies to pass the time. Brief stopover in Singapore with a few more beverages at the Airport Bar. Arrived at Phuket Airport to chaos until our fearless leader ( Slim ) organised extra transport for our huge load of luggage and rescue equipment.
All good at Patong Resort Hotel . Two rooms needed extra beds. Rm1 Craig. Steve , John. Rm2 Stuart, Chris , Dasha Rm3 Slim & Denise Rm 4 Tiff Rm 5 Ken & Gail.

Friday consisted of John & Slim visiting Phuket Admin Organisation & met head of Lifeguards. Also met Kit, who is 2IC of local Lifeguards. Craig and Steve went to Dusit Laguna Resort & met president of Rotary. Organised training of resort staff & school students for following Wed - Friday . Both meetings very fruitful. Ken and Tiff met with Peter Davison at Phuket International Hospital and had a very interesting and successful meeting. Peter was able to have the Oxyvivas that have been donated by the NSW Fire Brigade revieweed by his engineering personell and
will abe able to have them adapted for the Thai environment and implement them into use for emergency care. Rest of team assigned to beach orientation.

Hey team - great to hear from you, sounds like everything is going well - we are really jealous and wish we could all be over there with you. Surf at Avoca has dropped from an huge southerly swell with great tow ins at North Avoca several days ago to a flat, rain drenched cold afternoon today (Sunday 8th). Sounds like you have been getting a taste of some Thai surf - how is the foot Parkesy? Adrian wishes he was over in Thailand to watch the Asian Football cup - shame to see the stadia so empty over there. Keep the good news flowing! KD
