We headed to the middle of Berlin to see the National Parliament. It was evident that it would be raining today. We found a parking spot and headed to the side entrance of the building. We were entering through the VIP door, which was nice because there was hundreds of people standing in line out in the rain trying to get in through the main entrance. Thanks to Ingo, we had our own special tour. We had a quick security check and set off to see the building. The history of the building itself was impressive, it had major things happen to it during WW2.
After parliament visit, we headed back to the car. By this time the rain was really starting to come down, so, we chose to see the major sights by car. The only one I really liked was Check Point Charlie. This is where the Americans and Russians guarded the crossing between East and West Berlin.
We then started the long drive to Amsterdam. When it wasn’t raining hard, we were able to make pretty good time. We arrived in Amsterdam about 930 pm, checked in to the hostle, and hit the bars. We had a good time.
