Today was out first free day. we just got in on friday so we actually got to explore by ourselves. i met up with tara, tara, jared and chris and we all went to 11 am mass at the cathedral at parque central. we were suppose to get up for the 10am mass but we were out late with our teachers last night. we went to this dance dinner show until 3am and then me, tara, and regina took a taxi home. well...no taxi driver knew where i lived and being that im pretty good with directions i kinda of knew but couldnt speak to them. i was so scared and the taxi driver was really mean. thank goodness the girls were with me. finally after getting a map, walking a mile, and 3 taxis later... i arrived home and cried because i was soooo scared.

anyways...things here are soooo cheap!!!! we had lunch today (at 4pm) at a chinese restaurant and each had a bowl of wonton soup and 2 waters for 14.50 soles which is 4.50 in dollars!!! i bought 4 bananas and a bottles water for 90 cents !!!! i felt like such a bargain shopper.

i am the only blonde in the whole city!!! it is kinda scary. but no one really bothers you though. my friend chris said that everyone looks at me because they know i dont belong here. dont be suprised if i come home a brunette. lol jk.

tomorrow is our first day of school. i have to walk there and be there by 9. i could take a taxi or bus but id rather the exercise. the food here is ok...i think food in america is better and alot healthier. the fruit is amazing and cheap here which is good. i dont think peruvians eat veggies though. i had my first veggie today since i have been here!!!

anyways...gunna go to sleep well at least try. it is sooooo boring in my host families house. there is another girl living here too but from another program. we never cross paths though.

tty tomorrow
love ya
