A very happy man in Deep Blue!!
Buenos Aires turned out to be a much bigger city than we expected and is pretty much like a european city. Its a really nice place.
We had a bit of a dodgy start as we stayed in a really awful hostel called Milonga in Recoleta. Do not stay here! It was dark and cold the only good thing was that they had a pool table. The bathrooms were bad - a trickle of water from the showers and only cold water from the taps and well - just very bad!!So we didnt stay long there and moved to a different area in Buenos Aires called San Telmo and managed to get a lovely hostel there called Telmotango. The staff here are so helpful and friendly and the place is really clean.
The nightlife in Buenos Aires is kicking but locals dont really go out till late. They might have dinner at around 10 or 11 pm and then go to a bar and nightclub then at aroun 2am. So places stay open right through the night!!
We went to a few really cool places one which is a bar called Deep Blue in Recoleta. This place is mad - the

decor is really trendy and they have good music, pool tables and best of all, self service beer taps at each of the booth tables! You pay for the amount of litres you drink at the end of the night. Needless to say - we had such a laugh with this and we got a few pictures of our amusement.
We went to a few other places like the french bar La Cigale (which was a bit of a let down) and Club Museum (which is a bit crazy) and other smaller bars which were really nice.
We also did the touristy thing of going to the Tango show but it was really good and we even got to try it ourselves in a lesson! That didn't go to well as we both have two left feet but im sure it was funny for the other people who were watching (how embarrassing!!).

The old cemetery for the well off was a bit weird to say the least. We saw Eva Peron's grave but it wasn't very impressive compared to some of the other graves. Each grave is huge and more like little buildings or temples and you can see

into them. We didn't really like that because you could see how many coffins were in there and it was all a bit eery.

Food and drink is so good here and so cheap! We definetly ate well and even got used to not having steak near well done. Theres this nice place called Siga La Vaca and its an all you can eat barbeque place for around 9 euro and you get drinks with that and everything else. We found it hard to walk after that we were so stuffed!

So we had a really good time in Buenos Aires and we have added a few photos. But as with any other city with such a huge population the poverty is evident all over they city. In the area that we stayed in (San telmo) its the main tango area but its a run down and dirty. Its really sad to see people even children going through bags of rubbish at night time.
But on Sunday this area comes alive with a street market and its like a different place. And there are plenty of good restaurants and bars in the area. You just need to be cautious when walkin at night.
