After 35 hours of travelling and 3 flights my original travelling buddy, Mike, arrived looking worse for ware, but safely. His epic trip didn't end there though and 3 hours later we were on a flight to Salta.

Salta is a relatively sleepy town in the north of Argentina know for its beautiful architecture and cobbled streets. Mike and I spent a day exploring the city, but to be honest I preferred our quad biking trip and he fell in love with Argentinian steak! In fact the only night we chose not to eat steak our meal was that bad we had it boxed up and ended up trekking to our favorite steak restaurant! Later we gave the entire meal to a homeless women with a baby, so while we might be "flashpackers" we're thoughtful and resourceful!

While in Salta we decided to visit the salt flats. I obviously haven't learnt much as a traveller because I forgot to ask how far the trip was (again!). Anyway, the 600km round trip was well worth it. On route we saw fields of cacti, ancient ruins (that looked like piles of rocks) and sleepy towns. The salt flats themselves were brilliantly bizarre. We drove into the centre and stood with acres of salt around us. At this point your perception of size and distance becomes distorted. Being travellers with cameras we tried our best to take advantage.

After Salta we headed to BA. Instead of flying we chose to take a 20 hour bus ride and to save even more money we took an overnight bus. All in all the bus saved us over $100 each. All I can say is look at the bus!! The class is called 'super carma'. Trust me there is no looking back after that!

In BA Mike and I did the usual: ate loads of steak, checked out some nightclubs, and went to a Boca match. This Boca match wasn't just any game, it was the semi-final of the South American Cup. And we weren't just in any seats, in fact we didn't have seats, we were crammed amongst the locals behind the goal. Thankfully Boca won again which put them in the final, something they've missed out on for 10 years. As I write this one of the finals has taken place and Boca won again so as my new team I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

After ticking the standard BA boxes we took another super cama bus up to the Iguazu Falls, which is where we are now. The falls are that spectacular they deserve a whole blog page. Until then, bye from the both of us!
