Hello again!

After 4 days in the sunny city of Darwin (which isn't much bigger than Wigton if you ask me) i caught my flight to Perth, 4 days in Darwin were enough as there really aint very much happening there except that the weather combined with the amount of bars made it feel a bit like a mini Magaluff meaning that when i arrived in Perth the old bank balance was looking a bit depleted. The most exciting things other than a bar was feeding the hundreds of fish that come into the harbour everyday - was pretty impressive to see so many fishies eating out of your hand and a visit to a Crocodile farm.

My first two weeks in Perth were pretty good despite the lack of cash which was all but killed off during a quality drunken night at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow pub, this led me in desperation to accept a job about 2 hours north of Perth in a place called Calingiri where i was working with a Dutchman, German and a Scotsman picking rocks which is exactly what it sounds like and nothing more, you just had to walk around a

dusty dry ploughed field infront of a loader and put these rocks / boulders into the bucke. The first 4 days we were all in severe muscular pain and the old heat cream got a hammering but after a while it stopped hurting the body... it was just the mind asking why the hell am i doing this sh*t? We worked 15 days straight from dawn til dusk except one day when we got to finish work midday due to rain and headed to a nearby similar dump to try the pub there, on the plus side the food was all home cooked and really good and you had your own room. The town where we stayed 1 phone box, 2 shops you never went in as you worked longer than they were open, and a crappy little "sports club/bar" full of strange locals who have never ventured farther than Perth.

After our 15 day stint we drove into Perth for a day and a half off, i managed to leave my ID at the house and could'nt get into any bars of clubs and even struggled to find a hostel that would let me stay without a passport but i managed in the end and had 2 excellent nights of sleep and even decided to quit the job, so when we got back to the farm on the Tuesday i threw in the towel and here i am back in Perth looking for more work, i went around a few job agencies today and actually got 4 hours work on the spot. I might head back into the wilderness to do some grapevine pruning soon depending what i find here cos it's meant to be decent cash once your upto speed, one thing about working in the middle of nowhere is its a hell of alot easier to save cash!

Back home on October 8th, it's all booked.

Our rainy half a day off was spent here, nobody else was here though. We had to drive to work in that car!
