Well, settled back into old dunners again. Its not so bad as I thought actually. I found an awesome flat, with the most amaaaaazing view, which is only 5 minutes drive from town (plus park-finding time of course ugh! damn the bus for being so expensive I have to take my car!). Considering the places I've been, thats pretty darn close! Kinda funny though, in Dunedin its a bit in the wops, people ask me 'why are you living way out theeeeere?!'
PhD is slowly getting momentum. For those of you who understand or care for the semi-specifics of what I'm actually studying, i'm looking at liver regeneration in the mouse after partial hepatectomy (chop out 70% of the liver and sew him up again), and the involvement of complement, the toll-like receptor 4 pathway, and Kupffer cells.
Pretty exciting stuff, after you chop out most of the liver it grows back to the same size after 1-2 weeks! I'm gonna be playing around with different mice strains, that have had particular genes removed or mutated. Will be good to get back into some experiments again.
