Overlooking the coastline of the cote d'azur
Hello from Florence!!

I never thought I would visit Italy but I'm finally here!

Before I tell you about Florence I have to mention our incredible trip outside of Nice. Jenn and I took the train to Eze Village which is in between Monaco and Nice and hiked up to the village. The view was amazing. We went into the gardens which had a large cacti collection and overlooked most of the Cote d'azur. We could see the Cannes and St Tropez coastline from where we were standing. The pictures posted do not do the view justice.

We explored the nightlife in Nice but we ended up spending most of our night drinking champagne on the beach with some British students who randomly sat down and started talking to us. They were a lot of fun and were shocked when I knew who the GLC was. They also were shocked that I used to work for the team Freddy Adu plays for. Apparently on their football computer game you can buy him for cheap and in a few seasons he is the best player on the team. I guess he's a star in the world of video games.

Overlooking the city from Il Duomo
To bad they had no clue he played for DC United or that there was even a team called DC United!

It was sad to leave Nice but Florence is so cute! The highlight so far has been the shopping (more on that later) and Il Duomo.

We got up early to avoid the lines and climbed up to the top. Now i have a slight fear of heights when it comes to climbing up or down narrow, winding, dark, steep and enclosed stairs, and the 400 plus stairs one has to climb to reach the top turned out to be my worst nightmare. Both Jenn and I were shaking by the time we had finished and don't get me started on what it was like climbing down those stairs with people climbing up them at the same time. The view from the cupola was well worth the panic attack I almost had though. You could see the entire city from the top, we didn't realize how big Florence is!

So yes, we went shopping. I'm very clumsy and I ruined a pair of shoes from falling one too many times so I had to buy a

new pair. Apperantly in Florence birkenstocks are cheap!!! I got a real pair for only 29 euros! I'm still in shock..... Jenn also manged to talk her way into getting two necklaces for the price of one. It took some work on her part but she did well, I was impressed.

Tonight we are off to the Academia and tomm. we are gonna hit some more museums.

Its great to hear from everyone and I hope ya'll are doing well!
