The last two weeks have been full of activity. We have been working fast and furious, trying to get our house packed up - some things to go on the container, some things to go in storage, and some to pack in our suitcases. Additionally, we have been fitting in Dr.'s appointments, purchasing new glasses and contacts for those who needed them, last minute shopping, banking, etc.

On March 29, our container arrived about 8:30 am. It was foggy and damp, but fortunately, the storm that was predicted held off for a few hours. George, Jacob, and Luke, along with help from two church members - Matt Parker and Chris Westphal, and our neighbor, Mike Crabbs, loaded our container. George did a great job strategically planning how and what order things would be loaded. We were able to put most of the boxes on pallets, which were then shrink wrapped, and our neighbor graciously gave us the use of his skidloader to load the pallets. With great team work, the guys finished loading by noon - just 3 1/2 hours! A big thanks to Matt, Chris, and Mike for helping us.

Friday, March 30, the congregation in Menlo gave us a farewell party. Several people from out of town came, which was a nice surprise, especially since that was the only opportunity we would have had to say goodbye.

April 1 was our last Sunday at Menlo. It was a difficult day for everyone, but we are very appreciative of the congregation, and their great attitude about our decision to work in Tanzania. We will miss them. We drove to Missouri, where we worshipped Sunday evening, spent the night with friends, and after more tearful goodbyes, made our way to Arkansas. After spending a night with friends in Springdale, Arkansas, we made our way to Van Buren, AR, where we will be staying for about 12 days. We are spending time with our overseeing congregation, the Dyer Church of Christ, for a few days, until time for our departure.

Our hearts are deeply touched by the goodness of our brethren. So many of you have seen to our needs, by giving your time, energy, and your money to help us. We simply cannot adequately express the thankfulness that we feel for each one of you. Please continue to remember us in your prayers.
In Christian Love,
Joy
