Greetings from Queenstown, which is located on the south island of New Zealand. Its been an interesting few travel days, and I am happy to report I can confirm today is the 23rd of March. Brenda and I finally made it to the airport in Ko Samui on the right day for our 6am flight into Bangkok. Once in Bangkok airport we had approximately 10 hours to kill with all our gear in tow as we couldn't check in for our Qantas flight bound for Sydney until 3 hours prior to departure. We decided to crash on the steel seats in this ultra modern/space aged airport, which was not an easy feat. After hearing stories and watching "Brokedown Palace" neither one of us were willing to take the risk of spending 33 yrs in a Thai prison because drugs were slipped into our backpacks while we slept, so we did what any sensible person would do....tried to sleep on them and used every limb of our bodies to gaurd every zip. Eventually the time came for us to board our 9 hour flight to Sydney... at this stage we were both exhausted, so once on board we ate our meals

This is just one of the many amazing views that could be seen from our coach from Christchurch to Queenstown
and passed out. Once in Sydney we had another stop-over which would have us connect to our next flight to Christchurch, NZ. We got supper shuttle to our YHA Hostel which was central in the city, and walked around town a bit. Have to admit, Christchurch didn't do a whole lot for us, so we just ate again tried to map out our itinerary and went back to bed. On that note, we must pay tribute to our lovely dorm mate who had some weird habits that kept us all up throughout the night. Early in the night myself and brenda took a fit of giggles but by 4:30am, it was a bit insane...fear not, we got her back when we had to get up at 7am to catch our bus...we showed no mercy, lights went on, bags were slammed, and chatting was done..ha... don't mess with the Irish!

The next leg of our journey saw us take an 8 hr bus trip across the south island, which though long, was full of incredible picturesque sights such as Lake Tekapo and Mt. Cook. We landed into another hostel, this time it was a male freak we were put with

who kept trying to convince myself and brenda to go for drinks, even though we were already in our pjs in bed.

Today we have just been taking in the local scenary Queenstown has to offer. Its a very adventure based area with loads of activities to choose from, i.e. bungy jumping, jet boating, river rafting, and skydiving. Brenda has been motivating me to do the 12,000 ft skydive with her, and as of now...we have officially booked the jump. I am absolutely shaking with nerves! Hopefully they do a video or pictures or something so that if we do it and i survive I can post something on the blog to share with ye.

So far NZ has been fantastic, but it must be noted that compared to Thailand everything just seems sooo incredibly expensive again!

K, well hopefully I will have some more interesting and fun pictures up in the next day or so.

Missing you all terribly!

Glad you remembered the correct date! haha. Queenstown looks like a beautiful place. Love the mountains! What kind of weird habits did your first dorm mate have? lol. P.S. The movie is "Brokedown Palace," not "Browdown Palace." :)
