Well, we finally got off Phi Phi on Monday.
The last week has been a great time. More partying and staying out late than I would EVER do back home, so be proud. Can't say there was too much drinking going on on my part, but nonetheless it was still always a good time.
One night I did a Sunset tour of Maya bay (where the beach was filmed). Along the way I got to do some great snorkelling and I also got to Monkey beach with my camera finally! The first time that ash and I went we had to snorkel to the beach just to get there so no cameras that time. This time I had Dee's cam with me, and took a bunch of great photos in and out of the water. Also, they kayaked from the boat and put everybody's cameras in a waterproof bag so I could have mine with me as well. The monkeys were definately cool, some comiing up so close that you could feed them from your hand.
There was more snorkelling after that in this beautiful bay on the other side of the small island. It wasn't a reef
that you look down on, but a wall that you swim around. I saw some great sea life there as well, including my fave puffer fish.
From there we snorkelled to the small beach then walked through a cave and got to "the beach" beach from there. Now I can actually say that I stepped foot on it. My 2 previous visits I hadn't been so lucky. Then me and a sweedish girl kayaked our way back to the boat that had motored around the island to anchor in the bay for a while. From there we went out to the open water to watch the sunset and have dinner that was included. This was all for 500b and I booked it through our hotel. It was the best 6 hours I spent on Phi Phi I would say. Dee had booked as well, but as we were walking to the pier, she fell viciously ill and had to return. She didn't want me to miss out, considering that was supposed to be one of our last nights on the island, so I went by myself. I did however meet some great people, Canadians of course. One guy, Kurtis
works in Dubai but is from Calgary and is just on holiday right now from a business trip in Kuala Lumpur. He was a bit older... I'd guess around 36, 37 ish. Then there was Andrew and he was working on the sunset boat. He's been travelling around southeast asia for the past 4 months and he's from...... hmmm... can't remember... somewhere in Alberta I think. He loves it so much that he's decided that the only time he thinks he's gonna go home will be to visit. He wants to make his home over here.
Other than that, there was a lot of beach time, tan time, swim time to get sick of before coming home in a week. I'm not too sure that I'm sick of it yet... but well... I guess I'm gonna hafta be since tomorrow I fly out of Phuket back to Bkk for some much needed shopping and dallying around. I think I might go see another movie too. MBK and Khao san are on the list of things to do over the weekend, then I've got plans to take the train to Kanchanaburi and see Erawan falls like I had originally planned
but never got the chance to see. I'll stay there for 2 nights then head back to BKK to meet up with Dee for my last night then head on home.
Hope everybody has gotten the invite to the raging party that Lin's throwing for me for my birthday and home coming... LOL... It's on the 16th... don't have the info other than that, so get ahold of her.
I've bought some cool things since I've been in Phuket... Got a guy to take us into the "Secret Room" of purses that they keep behind the stores... This is a room where the keep the "real" knockoffs... I bought an LV. I don't have one, never got one when it was all the rage... now I'm so glad I waited. Girls... WAIT till you see THIS purse... I thought my Guess one was nice. WOW. That's alls I gots to say bout that!
Dedria has decided to leave me this week to travel with Jamie to Lanta. Since Ashley and I had such a bad experience there, and we made a promise to eachother never to return, I've decided to honour that promise and head out on
my own. I'm actually looking forward to this week to do the things that I really wanna do and just be by myself. It's a much needed week in the last 10 that is going to be appreciated tremendously.
See y'all next week!!!
