So its finally hit me... we have made it to Australia... suppose the moment was when we went for a walk past the Sydney Opera house this morning!!

Any way i'll rewind a bit to tell you how fantastic Hong Kong was... after the 12 hour flight we couldnt be bothered to try and find our way around the massive city at night but luckily enough for us we jumped on the free hotel shuttle (which was very handy n must have saved us loads on taxis) and we started asking 2 english couples about where to go in Hong Kong. One thing lead to another and before we knew it they were showing us everywhere and the older couple who were celebrating their 47 wedding anniversary were telling us all bout what the harbour looked like 50 years ago! The younger couple were lovely aswell and extremely helpful.. we went on a night ferry cruise.. then walked back to the hotel via the night markets which were supa cheap! got myself a propa silk chinese dressing gown for about 4pounds... even cheaper than Primark!

The next day unfortuantly jet lag court up with us and we slept thru the 8am alarm n didnt get up til 12. but after that we made the most of the day and went up the the Peak which is the main view point over Hong Kong.. its class cos you get this 100years old tram up the most steep hill you have ever seen then your faced with the amazing view at the top. excellent. and the weather couldn't have been better was glorious sunshine and about 27degrees.

So a 5am wake up call in Hong Kong got us the the very very organised airport where you wore coloured stickers for the specific flight you were on so if the gate changed they would tell you lol!
the 9 hour flight was class to Sydney everyone has to fly with Quantas from now on!!! you got your own remote control/game consol/plane phone and you could pick the movies you wanted on demand... 9 hours wasnt long enough! with all the newest films to choose from we fitted in Blood Diamond, The Last King of Scotland and Open Season.. all mint (oh and 2 eposides of Top Gear!)

Anyway we finally got to our hostel during the most amazing loudest most dramatic thunder and lightening storm i have ever seen! didn't really know what to expect as the man opened our dormatry door but a massive drinking game was one of the last things we expected.. what a good way to get to know everyone.. loadsa friendly people all on their own adventures.

So after a very very hot n sticky night's sleep we got up n went for a walk around Sydney to explore... and that brings us to now! we are sitting in a internet cafe in China Town in central sydney and are going for a Chinese now!

cya soon... thanks everyone for leaving brill comments propa makes us chuffed! hopefully will be able to put some pics on next time

chow for now xxxxxxx

So excited for you both
Its Monday morning and what a wonderful start to our week to hear from you both - The up-dated blog is brilliant - we feel as though we are there with you and we just love the comments. Everyone at work has been asking have we heard from you and how is it going - I am now giving everyone your blog details so that they can follow your journey with us. How nice it was of the couples in Hong Kong to show you the sights. It sounds as though your new dormatory friends will be just as helpful!!!! Anyway enjoy your Chinese food (yes Anthony, I can well believe it) and have a fantastic time in Sydney. Love you both, Mum, Dad, Andrew, Adam, Paws and Oscar - P.S. Nana and Gran send their love - we must get them a lap top so they can log on themselves!lol. xxxxxxxxx

Isn't technology brilliant
Hi Anthony and Emma - what fantastic photographs - you are so right about Manley Beach- it looks gorgeous. We mentioned that you had been to the Botanical Gardens to Eileen and she asked us to pass on a message to say that the Chinese Gardens were well worth a visit. It looks as though you found that out for yourself......... the waterfall picture is beautiful - infact we've started a gallery of pictures at home - we especially like the captions - keep them going - they are such fun. We see you've managed to buy some 'flip flops' Anthony - very fetching.......... You both look very healthy - must be all those MacDonald Healthy Option Meals!!!! lol.......... Take care of yourselves - looking forward to the next update. Love to you both, Mum, Dad, Andrew, Amie (hopefully spelt correctly this time!),Adam, Emma, Paws and Oscar xxxxxxxxxxxxx
