I was so so so so pleased when, having fiddled with my camera for ages, I finally managed to get a setting that could capture the gorgeous blue of this water. The fact that I was taking the photo in the murky light of a cave was the main problem.
A very quick blog just to say that my snorkelling trip today was absolutely amazing!! It took place in the Rio da Prata just outside of Bonito. After circling a big pool we then got to float downriver for about 2-3hrs. The water was sooooooo clear and hence you could see really far. It was teaming with fish who came really close. Dorado is the only name that comes to mind but there were huge black and yellow ones, tiny flitty ones eating bits of leaves and gorgeous stripey ones. I used my underwater camera and so hopefully there should be something to bore you all with when I return. In one pool there were also volcanic patches bubbling out of the sand on the bottom of the riverbed. Our guide was great and also took pictures and videos of us that I'm getting on a cd. Gotta go!! Off to the Foz tomorrow at 5am!!

It was a magical moment when these guys swam past us, totally oblivious due to the yummy food they were munching on.
