Maps, Compass, Atlas, Travling brochures and first aid kit.
After our fifth and consecutive lap around a double lane, five entry traffic circle, Jordan said go left. We then raced through Kuala Lumpur's (KL) busy and winding city only to reach what seemed like a boarder crossing. As we came to the crossing I drove into a lane not knowing what to expect or if we were even crossing the correct boarder. When we got to the front of the line where all the signs were labeled only in a form of Malaysian Bahasa, everyone started yelling (in Bahasa by the way) that we were in the wrong line I assumed. So I switched the 1997 Proton, which is regarded as Malaysia's National successful car and handles alot similiar to a 1997 chevy cavaliar, into reverse backed out of the line, and drove into the next line on the left. When I pulled up everyone was yelling, again in Bahasa so we assumed we were in the wrong line again. I knew only our Northern destination IPOH and a few phrases from our time spent in Indonesia where they speak a similiar form of Bahasa, so I said Di Mana Ipoh and gestered to the closed crossing gate. The lady smiled, gave us two iced coffees and a ticket, and opened the gate. We then raced out of the five lane boarder crossing and were relaxed to see our compass pointing Northwest followed by a sign displaying Simpang ke 50m IPOH.

So off we went on what would be an 8 day 2155 km drive through 7 states, and two ocean crossings of the South China sea armed with one compass, 30 rinngit (10 canadian) worth of road maps, and one first aid kit.

The trip was a success to say the least, and since I don't want to bore you with words have a look at the many pictures which are in order and labeled.

Take care,

Next time you hear from me I might not have much to post as I am heading to to Thailand and plan on wasting away on a beach there until we can get our visa's into Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. Plus there is a full moon party coming up there March 3rd.

Jungle trek in the high lands 4000 m above sea level. With the humidity here in Malaysia it was almost hard to breath. We actually went hiking with a few people we met from sweden and one of the girls was nearly having an ashma attack.

word
Hey corey, Good to see that ever step of your trip is an adventure like ours. We too are feeling the altitude in columbia. I find its defently a weird sensation to be out of breath without being physically tired. Happy birthday! Nastassia
