paragliding!
just before we suited up to go! It's been a little while since I updated, so I thought I should fill you all in on my adventures.
Trier was a great little city, we spent the day there and got to see Pascal as well. We checked out some of the old roman ruins, and walked around, had kepabs of course and took the train home. We only slightly got stranded on the train (sound familiar AO?) since our little train station is so tiny it's not listed on the departure schedule so we thought we couldn't make it home! Luckily we found some friends that did some investiagion work for us and figured it out okay.
I made it to H-berg a few weekends ago! It was wonderful. I took the ducks with me so I could show them my old stomping grounds. Saw G's play (Pinoccho), she was the best Cricket ever! Saw Sylvia at the play, the rest of the Nichols family, and had a beer at the Dubliner with Natey D. I also randomly saw Aaron the supply guy from PHES. It was great to visit with those guys, and I'll definitely have to make it back there again!
Work has
hammocks!
Chilling in the recovery room... in hammocks! been goining alright, the kids are just great. Sometimes they can be a handfull, but I really do love preschool aged kids. It's different having 3-5's, never worked with this range before, but they are quite something. One of the kids calls me Miss Henry and it's so darn cute. I have a few little buddies and always have a story or another to tell after work.
So, the big news I guess is that the ducks and I made it to Switzerland this weekend! We actually did get our 4 day weekend (after much dispute and arguing) but we booked our hostel (Balmers, which rocks!) and figured out the train situation. We didn't actually buy our tickets until the day of, because we can't get international train tickets at our tiny station. But the 7 hour train ride worked out well, and we finally made it to the alps! It was so amazing, I just don't have words to describe it. One of those natural things that I had to keep reminding myself that "I'm in Switzerland, looking at the Alps!" It was just great. First thing we checked into the hostel, and booked tandom paragliding the the
delicious h2o
the fresh spring outside our hostel, and our sweet free canottles! next day! Again, it was gorgeous! We went up the mountain to a little hill drop, got all strapped in with our instructor (mine was Ruppert) and he just told me to start running. It was hard to run because the glide came up, but pretty soon my feet left the ground, and I could see all of Interlaken under me. The lake (Thurnsee) was so pretty! And we could see the "Top of Europe" the highest mountain in Europe. I got to take my camera, and as you can see, some pretty sweet pictures. One of the most amazing things I have ever done, for sure.
The next day we went hiking in the mountains a little ways away in Lauterbrunne. It was soo picturesque, and the weather was beautiful! Outside our hostel was a natural spring with the best water ever, so we took water bottles everywhere we went. Also because Switzerland is sooo expensive!!) We went to a grocery store and bought stuff for sancwiches, as we didn't want to buy food. So we ended up eating break for almost every meal! Breakfast was included which was bread and cheese and jam, and we had PB
instructor
Ruppert and I, pretty sure he made some comment about me being tall, and he being the short instructor and J's and cheese sandwiches, and we also made it to some Swiss fodeue, which was just great, abeit expensive. Needless to say I was excited to come home and not eat bread!! We happened to find a little cafe to have coffee at every morning, and it was such a smooth relaxing trip, I definitely didn't want to get on the 7 hour train yesterday! But we did get to buy Swiss Army knives, found watches, chocolate, and cheese, saw cows and sheep, people falling out of the air, and pretty much everything necessary for the total Swiss experience! But it's also nice to be setteled back into my room, and not sharing my room with 5 random dudes. Back to work today much refreshed and able to handle the kids a little better I think. 4 day weekends are a must to keep the sanity around here! I just wish we had a few more of them.

Know what I love?
Of course I love my Heather, but I also love that G is dancing on you with cute hair(really, could that girl be any more beautiful??), that Lil' Natey Dizzle is drinking a guinness(and that you did another pointing-picture), AND that Pascal is making his priceless "map face!" Kari and I are still here drinking our way through Remedial. She had a meeting with Bonnie today and was grateful not to be eaten... Miss you darlin!
