Namaste Everyone,

So I can't sleep when I should sleep and I want to sleep in the middle of the afternoon.
So the thing that stands out most to me are cows, the city smell, and pink toilet paper....hehehe.... I got bumped to the side of a road by a cow! okay holy holy but I wasn't expecting that.... Also for twenty cents I bought some really cool pink toilet paper since I'm not ready to do the "splash splash" method....
Delhi is crazy... I don't want to stay here to long. Not to much to see it's basically where everyone flies in and takes off too. The people I've encountered so far are delightful...knock on wood.. everyone is curious and seems very geniune to want to know about what you are doing and where you are going....how much money you make, what you studied, where you are staying, your religion, etc... feel like I'm being interviewed.... I don't mind though it's kind of fun because you are allowed to ask them the same questions.
The food is amazing... i like spicy food though...Jasmine, Yani you guys would love the food. Neesha makes me think of dinner at your house!
I think my first adventure is going to be Rajasthan....maybe tomorrow or the day after. The trains about fourteen hours and the country side is supposed to be breathe taking.
I'm looking into going to Jaisalmar where I think I'm going to take a two day camel trek into the Great Thar Desert! If you are curious on the map it's on the north west side of India close to Pakistan. From there I think I'm going to go to Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. I think these all make up a small part of the Golden Triangle.
So this is all I know expect my attempt to pack very little failed. As well as I did...one bag! I wish it was empty because the streets are filled with the most amazing fabrics and clothes I've ever seen. I think i'm going to retire my jean skirts...finally....for some traditional clothing. It looks so comfortable and cool!
I think what makes India work for people is having patience. You can't come here and expect to stay on a strict schedule!

One thing I must commet on that I noticed and dissapointed me was the way Americans treated the Indians on the flight over. I noticed at how short, standoffish, and rude they were....in a way that wouldn't have happened if it were two Americans interacting. I suppose it's only my perspective but it happened three times so I think it's something I was to notice.

Anyway talk to you soon. I leave you with a new word!
Sucria.....don't know how to spell it but means thank you in Urdu.(sp)...

People here speak 3-4 languages at any given time so it's hard to pick up....trying though.

love and peace

2 days on a camel in the desert? Camel fart stinks so watch out... LOL! I'm glad you made it safely, and I'm not surprised in the least about the over-packing. ;) I'm sorry to hear about the discrimination on the plane. That shit's not right yo. My friend here at work is from India. I gave him your blog link so he can tell me more about where you are and what's going on over there!!!! Love you! Take care!
