Moments before being 60 ft. under water!
Hello everyone. We are back in Honduras and at the bay islands. We just completed our open water scuba training on the island of Utila. Now we are Certified Open Water scuba divers. We have already gone on four dives down to 60 ft. and we have two free ones on Thursday. We are hoping to see a Whale Shark. Today on our dive we saw all types of tropical fish, an Eagle ray, and a Hawksbill turtle. It’s really fun to swim with the fishies and be neutrally buoyant. So the first two weeks we were in class and now the last leg of our journey we have spent in class as well. This is much more rewarding; less practical, but fun. We have a bus ticket from Honduras to San Jose on the third so we will post more pictures and contact you all then. We will be home soon.
Now back to Belize:
So we spent a week basically sitting on the beach. Lucas and our favorite Canadian named Tim, spent part of a day making a hut for our good luck charm, Princess Yaniv. Lucas found fishing equipment after a few days. It consisted of fishing line, a sinker, and a hook. He bought bait and flung the line around his head and at the right moment let go. He caught a yummy red snapper. We ate well in Belize. Tim cooked for us every night. We had One Barrel, curry, Grouper fish, fish soup, Red Snapper, Conch, and stir fry. We were living it up. After a week of sitting in the sun, fishing, and enjoying English speaking culture, we had to take a boat ride from hell to Honduras. This was the craziest boat ride we have ever been on. The waves were big and the jet boat (by the way, it was the nicest boat we have taken on this trip) was rocking like mad. The boat caught air a few times and Lucas, not Lindsay, actually got seasick.
We hope everyone is good and we will see you all soon.

what a life!
You guys certainly are making the most of this trip. We want to go to Belize! The troll angel was hysterical. It took us a moment to recognize it. The unique hairstyle gave it away. We will send a copy to Gran with some others. Dad was suitably impressed with the fish, Lucas. Good job! Guess we'll all have to go back someday so you can use your scuba diving certification. We want to learn, too! Anxious to see your tan smiley faces next week.....

Scuba diving? Wow, that's so neat. I hope you see a whale shark too! How cool would that be? I'm glad your trip has turned out to be so much fun. What an experience the two of you are having together? Lucas, I'm impressed with your fish catching skills. If I was ever standed on an island, I'd want you and lindsay there so we could go diving and eat fish.
