the tallest towers in the world
the petronas towers, kuala lumpur Malaysia is kool dont get me wrong but 4 me i have 2 admit what sums it up is the incrediable food. I was part and parcel of introducing jaya and manjit to tamil food. We will take away kadala vadas from the experience, (its snack food made from dale and u can get it in most tamil shops - ok not that im advertising 4 them or anything). Oh and i can speak tamil but these guys really confused with their accents, so I felt like a plum everytime that I spoke 2 them in tamil, then i just looked like the snobbish westerner who didnt know tamil, what to do.
However there is more to Malaysia then their food, in cameron highlands, we did a two and a half hour hike uphill, which u think we'd be used 2 after all those hikes. James (who is really asian and has a long asian name - but studied in City Uni so refers 2 himself as james) told us that it was a leisurely 1 and half hr walk, so we were like ok kool. Anyway the walk was not leisurely and it was 2 and half hours, we
monkey climbing the towers
he was trying to copy king kong :-D were all hurling ourselves over things to climb up what was a muddy steep uphill climb. When we got 2 the top, the view was crap and there was a road going down, we could have just got a flippin taxi up and down. But we were at the top now so we had 2 go back down. We had a 7km walk downhill on a steep winding road 2 look 4ward 2 and it wasnt easy either. However half way down we decided 2 try and hitch a ride (but we were convinced we wouldnt get one as we were covered in mud - i had stepped in the stuff and it had gone past my ankle :-( We managed 2 hitch a lift, these guys had a ute and we sat in the back clutching on as they drove downhill it was us 3 and this couple as well. Was an experience 2 remember.
