Well, it's been a bit of a rough warm up to India for me the last few days. A nasty tummy bug going around the house here finally got me, and I spent the last day very close to the bathroom and not feeling the perkiest. So far Carlie hasn't gotten it yet and I hope she doesn't.
Luckily we did have time to see the Tate modern on Saturday, before the tummy started to rumble. It was lovely and we both agreed that we like to travel with someone with whom we can split apart from and wander art galleries/museums apart from. So w wondered the Tate separately. I went straight to the Turner Galleries, which have greatly expanded since the last time I was there. Unfortunately they didn't have my favourite painting, Fishermen at sea, on display, but I spoke with them and the situation will be remedied for next time.
Another highlight of our day, or at least mine (not sure if Carlie was just amusing me by being excited too), was the discovery of Themes House, MI5 home base (and more importantly the setting for Spooks, best show ever). Interestingly, it is in fact on
the Themes, and it looks very much like the one on the show. Though, we were (again, I think mostly I) disappointed to find out that the front door used in the show does not seem to exist on the real Themes house. Oh well, it was still the most exciting thing I have seen in London so far.
I have recuperated now so we are off to the Tate Modern today.
