4 Irish, 2 Welsh, a load of alcohol and a random police hat- priceless!
Well first off a massive hello and welcome to anybody reading this! Most of you will know me but there must also be a lot of randoms as I have only placed one blog previously and I have only told one person of that so far, and yet it has been read 48 times (and no I'm not responsible for 40 of them before you say anything!)so hello to any randoms out there!! The rest of you newcomers reading this will be new to my blog, and will be family and friends so welcome to my blog, I intend to update this reguarly but we shall see...my last blog was at Christmas so this will be a whirlwind tour through New Years and my recent trips to London and Liverpool, and ending with a gloriously cheesy and emtional goodbye!

So New Years came and went, I never do much for this event anyway, hugely overrated in my eyes, but I usually gather with a group of friends and we see in the New Years in a house with good company and cheap beer! This year was slightly different, with people being scattered all around the country and having wives, family
New Years Eve Eve Party!New Years Eve Eve Party!New Years Eve Eve Party!

Due to people being spread across the country we decided to have a New Years Eve Eve Party! There were some absences but this was the stunning group that night
and friends to please, we decided on a New Years Eve Eve party instead. Thus we gathered at Rich's parents place, brought too much drink and food, plenty of games and had a great time. Its these kind of small social gathering with the group that I shall miss most perhaps?! The collective is known as the 'Barry Massive', and I hope through this blog to make them world famous, they deserve to be with the characters we have in there! Half of this group then gathered for the real New Years Eve at Haines' house and another great time was had-less of the fun and games of the night before but still a good laugh and even cups of tea-oh yes! Also, watching fireworks from London in the warm on TV beats standing outside in a crowd in the cold in Cardiff any day!

Things were then pretty quiet on all fronts for a while and I haven't even worked a single day since Christmas, although the schools being off didn't help I guess, and then there was no supply work after that, a shame as I could have done with the extra cash! I did meet
New Years Eve Party?!New Years Eve Party?!New Years Eve Party?!

The more reserved New Years Eve Party, note the tea in Dave's hand-excellent! Left to right, Homes, Anne (Haines mum)Haines, Bex, Yank, Lou..I miss you guys too, keep a tea brewing for me Haines'!
up with my partner in crime Chris though, and did some bit hunting, shopping and beer drinking-we made plans to do this in Aus in August, we shall see Chris..prove me wrong!! I love him to bits too, most people assume we are a couple, worrying! (he'd be punching above his weight if we were anyway lol)

The next main event on my long countdown to leaving was a weekend away, the plan was simple, on Friday myself and Dave AKA Yank headed to London on the train, the original aim being to meet up with an old travelling mate of ours-we met him in Aus in 2004 and haven't seen him since-an absolute legend by the name of Matt 'Brother' Reader. Whilst making the plans we decided it would be plain rude not to meet the half of the Barry massive who live and work in London, and seeing as it was the final weekend before I left it was all perfect timing and placement. Thus it was that we met with Rich, Kath, Caz, Ben and Atkins for a cheeky beer or five. It was about this time that it finally started to hit home that I

wouldn't actually be seeing these amazing people and my best friends for a while, the trip has to be done for my own sanity but I will miss these people with a passion! Beer flowed, laughs were had, some standardly stupid antics occured and I loved it all, brilliant. After the emotional goodbyes (I will spare you the gory details lol) me, Yank and Atkins headed back to his to drop our bags off (we had lugged them around pubs since 1 in the afternoon!), picked up Leighton and headed off to meet Matt and his wife Anna. By this time myself and Yank had been drinking for a good 8 hours or so and as a result were wasted, the memories are blurred, I remember little and I failed to take a single picture despite my camera being in the back pocket!! Memories range from trying and failing to dance like Usher, narrowly avoiding a beating from random big guys, climbing on the till to resuce a balloon with the bouncer 2 feet away and being dragged off the dancefloor quite literally by my feet by the boys, superb. From what i remember it was an awesome time though

Only 8:15 according to the camera and yet I have clearly reached the pain barrier-actually this wasn't the drinking sense, this is me struggling to arrange the massive bags me and Dave had brought on the weekend-well us girls can't go anywhere without our make up essentials now can we?!
and was great to see Brother Reader, we miss him dearly.

Next up was the trip to liverpool, after about 4 hours sleep on Atkins couch I grumpily and with a stinking hangover got up to leave for the train-anyone who knows me knows I would have hated this, I could have cried. Another emotional goodbye to Atkins and it was off on the long train to liverpool, the aim of this to meet another travelling mate-Ryan. Again, me and Yank had met him travelling, we spent a month with him in New Zealand and Fiji and we love him more than words can say! He was over in Liverpool on a stag do with 14 mates, so me and Yank went to meet them, 2 welshies, 15 irish, one city-it was going to be messy! Carnage duly followed, I have never met a funnier and crazier bunch of guys, I spent literally the whole night laughing at their antics, and of course got involved in some myself. I have to give a special mention to Peg-he must have been on a day release I swear to you, superb banter from the guy. The night only comprised of
What a bunch of lookers! What a bunch of lookers! What a bunch of lookers!

Part of the Barry massive gather in London on Friday, what a stunning bunch we make eh?! I miss you already guys!
2 pubs-one a standard Irish bar where most of our crimes wre commited, and then a random pub/club called Magnets(?!) We didn't leave there till about 6, and instead of heading home me and Yank followed Mcgee back to his posh hotel, the Adelphi. At the risk of impending lawsuits all I will say is that it involved ballroom dancing, fire extinguishers, wrecking his room, chases through the corridors and the schoolboy running headfirst into a door from Mcgee. I could rave on about the wonderment of the Irish boys but this blog is long enough. Anyways, headed back to our hotel at 7am, and me and Yank had to be up by half 8 for the train-oh you should have seen my face at having to get up after an hours sleep, about 5 combined for the weekend, i was in pieces! But worth every second, thanks to all those who attended, i love you all, and especially Yank for accompanying me on the trip, love you long time dude! Then last night myself, Yank, Haines, Homer, Jason and Marshall met up down Cardiff Bay for a few drinks, a catch up and a goodbye. Thanks to all those

atendees, was a top night and great to see you all before I go-even Homer who ran off and left us without saying goodbye because his lift was there-Cheers Homes I'll miss you too lol!

So thats everything caught up,it was probably long and boring and rubbish to read-especially as this is a travelling blog and I haven't left the country yet! But I am more testing this out now and seeing how the pictures fit alongside text etc! I hope to update this reguarly, its a cool little site, u can leave me comments down the bottom-although I warn you I get to screen them first before they get on here-a wise move I think when I have mates (no names mentioned Chris) who would love to banter me on here! You can also subscribe to my blog and it lets you know when I update it (dont think there are any catches or spam)but otherwise I will be emailing everyone on hotmail to let you know when I have updated it! You can also click on the pictures and they open up larger etc.

So this is me done, I hope you will enjoy my future
I just don't know, dont ask!?I just don't know, dont ask!?I just don't know, dont ask!?

A hot woman walking past? somebody spilling a beer? the second coming? Whatever it was got our attention!
blogs and adventures/travels. I hope this trip will be one of a lifetime and I find all that I seek and come back better for it. Rest assured (mum and dad!) I will be back, I just need to get out there and experience life a bit before I come back and settle down into the routine that we call life- after all it is better to have memories than dreams (thanks Katie-her quote!) Being overtly soppy and loving isn't for me (unless drunk) but I shall miss you all, love you all, and you will be in my thoughts-I look forward to seeing you all when I get back. I will really appreciate comments, txts (i will provide number when i get there) and emails so feel free to send me a load and I will be in touch soon. I also will try to keep my blogs shorter than this lol.

Take care everyone, loving you all.
Mike

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the places and moments that take our breath away.
